Overwatch 2 Tier List: Best Heroes in Season 15

Wanna stay on top of the Overwatch 2 meta? Season 15 brings some changes you might want to flow with. To pick the best heroes to help you dominate matches, let’s take a look at this Overwatch 2 tier list. We’ll break down which heroes are rising to prominence and which others fall behind. Let’s see where your favorite heroes rank across DPS, Support, and Tank roles.

Overwatch 2 Tier List Criteria

Before we dive into the whole tier list, let’s discuss how these heroes are ranked. With an ever-changing meta, it’s not very likely that heroes would stay at the same tier for long and perform the same with different teammates. So, we evaluated the heroes in our Overwatch 2 tier list according to:

  • Meta Relevance: How well the hero fits into the current Season 15 meta
  • Versatility: Whether the hero performs well across different maps and team compositions
  • Skill-to-Value Ratio: How much impact the hero provides relative to the skill required
  • Counter Potential: How vulnerable the hero is to popular counter picks
  • Team Synergy: How well the hero works with currently favored team compositions
  • Recent Balance Changes: Impact of buffs or nerfs from recent patches

Heroes in S-tier excel across almost all these criteria, while lower-tier heroes may struggle in multiple categories or require very specific conditions to be effective.

S-Tier

At the top of our Overwatch 2 tier list, we find heroes who excel without requiring specific team compositions or strategies. There’s a high chance that they can win and even carry the game due to the sheer power of their skills. Here’s every S-Tier hero and what makes them the best in the Season 15 meta:

  • Widowmaker (DPS): Best hero currently in terms of long-range damage and can take down support heroes with a single charged headshot. Can also keep herself safe from melee heroes due to her range. However, she becomes less effective on maps with tight spaces and close combat.
  • Kiriko (Support): Has impressive healing, incredible mobility, and high damage output but high skill ceiling. Her temporary invulnerability can save teams during crucial moments.
  • Sojourn (DPS): Has extreme headshot damage and can dish out both sustained damage and burst potential. Her ultimate provides constant railgun charge, allowing team wipes when shots connect. Has a high skill ceiling and requires good aim.
  • Winston (Tank): Has exceptional mobility and dive ability. Winston can both shield his team and disrupt enemy backlines. He’s effective at various ranges, though vulnerable when his jump is on cooldown.
  • Brigitte (Support): Rivals Kiriko and Juno in being the best Support in the game. Great passive buffs and protection with decent healing output. Not as dominant as in previous versions but still extremely effective.
  • Juno (Support): Still one of the best heroes in the game despite nerfs. Has mobility, ranged healing, and one of the most powerful ultimates.

A-Tier

Just a tier below the top-rating heroes, these ones are not too far off from ultimate excellence. However, they do require more skill or specific situations to shine.

  • Ana (Support): Heals allies and disrupts enemies from a distance. Her ultimate can turn the tide of battle, too. However, she lacks mobility and sustain options.
  • Tracer (DPS): Her high mobility and burst damage potential somehow make up for her low health pool. She can zip in and out of combat to evade threats like Roadhog’s hook.
  • Torbjörn (DPS): From being weak in the fast-paced meta, Torbjörn now has very impressive DPS. His biggest drawback is limited mobility.
  • Lúcio (Support):  Lúcio creates opportunities for his team with his ult and provides constant passive healing and speed boosts. His decent damage output tops it all off.
  • Ashe (DPS): Applies pressure and deals damage from safe distances with long-range primary fire and her dynamite. However, she’s largely dependent on her ultimate.
  • Baptiste (Support): Excellent for frontline support with genuinely dangerous primary fire and temporary immortality field. However, Kiriko often outshines him in similar situations.
  • Echo (DPS): While not as powerful as before), she remains a mobile, tank-busting DPS with diverse projectiles and a beam that melts barriers.
  • Ramattra (Tank): This versatile tank can switch between defensive and aggressive forms, providing decent shielding and also dishing out damage. His Nemesis form ignores shields and barriers but has limited duration.
  • D.Va (Tank): With one of the most effective ultimates and a rounded kit, D.Va excels at hunting down support heroes. Her Defense Matrix directly counters many powerful abilities, making her especially effective against certain enemies.
  • Hazard (Tank): An incredibly mobile tank who excels at diving in and out of combat, focusing vulnerable enemy backlines. He can scale walls for unique attack angles and has both single-target and area damage abilities.
  • Orisa (Tank): Her automatic cannon ensures a lethal frontline presence. Combining Fortify and Javelin Spin allows her to escape death, while Energy Javelin can disrupt enemies. Her Terra Surge pierces barriers, making her nearly unrivaled in battlefield sustainability.

B-Tier

These heroes are still solid picks, but may perform less effectively in a lot of team comps. They may also face challenges against top-tier counterparts.

  • Cassidy (DPS)
  • Doomfist (Tank)
  • Genji (DPS)
  • Junker Queen (Tank)
  • Junkrat (DPS)
  • Mauga (DPS)
  • Moira (Support)
  • Pharah (DPS)
  • Reaper (DPS)
  • Reinhardt (Tank)
  • Sigma (Tank)
  • Symmetra (DPS)
  • Venture (DPS)
  • Wrecking Ball (Tank)
  • Zarya (Tank)
  • Zenyatta (Support)

C-Tier

These heroes require specific conditions or exceptional skill to perform well in Season 15:

  • Bastion (DPS)
  • Hanzo (DPS)
  • Illari (Support)
  • Lifeweaver (Support)
  • Mercy (Support)
  • Roadhog (Tank)
  • Soldier: 76 (DPS)
  • Sombra (DPS)

Conclusion

There we have our Overwatch 2 tier list for Season 15! If you’re already skilled with heroes that rank high in this meta, maybe this is your sign to start dominating games. A lot of heroes remain viable and even top picks despite nerfs. Meanwhile, others shoot to popularity after being buffed or after the meta change.

Nevertheless, remember that this and other tier lists alone cannot determine how well you’ll do with these heroes on the battlefield. It will still take skill and enough practice to truly unleash their full potential!
