The current preseason promo and SBCs met expectations, with a few surprises along the way. EA’s official webpage highlights opportunities in FC24 to earn packs for FC25. Reaching Level 30 is crucial for securing an 84×5 pack in FC25, alongside Ronaldinho in FC24, maintaining player engagement through consistent gameplay.
Season Grind and Objectives
Reaching Level 30 is manageable with available XP over the next 25 days. EA introduced the “Compete Complete” Club Objective 1, offering an 80×10 pack and an 84×5 crossover reward for FC25. These rewards surpass last year’s, providing high-quality packs.
Upcoming SBC Objectives and Crafting
Compete Complete Objective 2 and a crafting objective with an 82×5 FC25 pack are expected soon. Although the unlimited 84×10 and daily 85×10 SBCs exist, the crafting objective remains beneficial. Completing the crafting objective 100 times initially caused confusion due to the SBC’s 75-repeat limit. This likely involves time-gating, refreshing after five days for more completions. Despite this, 100 completions are necessary for the 85×10 in FC24 and the 82×5 in FC25.
Preseason packs offer valuable rewards like the 84×5 and 82×10. However, these packs become available on October 10th, not on day one. This timing enhances the grind’s value, offering better rewards than last year. Most grinding can be done in Squad Battles, though completing objectives in Rivals and Champs is effective for testing new players.
Evolution Content and SBC Releases
Recent evolution content is underwhelming, with the shooting specialist as the latest release. However, SBC content remains strong, offering more value. EA released impactful player SBCs like Ronaldo at an accessible price, marking a focus on endgame content.
Rivaldo’s SBC, at around 1.2 million coins, offers great value considering his five-star skills and stats. Despite high demand earlier, his SBC availability makes him virtually free through the 84×10 grind. The 99-rated Pele Footies Icon SBC, released on Friday, is another significant endgame content release.
SBC Pack Management
Efficient fodder recycling is vital for maximizing the 84×10 grind without draining club resources. Recycling duplicates for exchanges keeps fodder consistent, supporting the completion of major SBCs. Store packs are nearly irrelevant due to abundant high-quality SBCs. Opening store packs is unnecessary compared to grinding daily 85×10 and 84×10 SBCs. Store packs mainly offer access to specific footies like Drogba and Salah, who will likely reappear in future re-releases.
EA’s endgame approach may inadvertently reduce store pack revenue, as players now prefer SBCs for their superior value. Although there are still big-name players in store-exclusive packs, waiting for them to be added to regular packs makes more sense. With SBCs offering the best rewards, EA might face decreased store pack purchases during this preseason phase.
Daily SBC Content and Future Drops
Looking ahead, the weekly Sunday content refresh typically brings new icon player picks. However, with the 93+ icon pick still available, today’s content may focus on a Footies-specific icon or hero player pick. Potential additions could include high-demand icons like Zidane, Vieira, or R9, along with more transferred player SBCs, ensuring continuous content updates.
Content Drop Timing
Recent changes to content drop times, with some releases occurring at 9:00 a.m. UK instead of the usual 6:00 p.m., have created confusion. This shift complicates the usual routine of checking for updates once daily, making it harder to track everything. While rewards can vary in timing, keeping content drops consistent remains beneficial for player engagement.
