Diamonds are among the rarest resources you’ll find in Moonlight Peaks. They have a small chance to drop while mining Stone, Copper, Iron, and Gold ore nodes, making every one you uncover a valuable find.
The game doesn’t immediately explain what Diamonds are used for, but they have three main purposes: building relationships with NPCs, earning Coins through Chester, or completing lucrative Job Board requests.
Give Diamonds as Gifts
Diamonds are considered a favorite gift by most of the town’s residents, making them one of the easiest ways to increase friendship.
Giving a Diamond to an NPC who loves the item provides a significant relationship boost, helping you raise affection levels more quickly. This is especially useful if you’re working toward romance or marriage with a specific character.
That said, Diamonds are difficult to replace, so you may want to think twice before handing them out if you’re low on your supply.
Sell Diamonds to Chester
Once you’ve unlocked Chester early in the game, you can sell almost any item you’ve gathered, crafted, fished, or mined—including Diamonds.
Each Diamond sells for 2,000 Coins, making them one of the more valuable gemstones you can cash in.
Unless you’re trying to quickly improve a relationship with a particular NPC, selling Diamonds is generally a better use of the resource, as most characters also appreciate gifts that are much easier to obtain.
Save One for the Job Board
The most profitable use for a Diamond is completing a Job Board request.
Occasionally, the town’s Job Board may generate a contract asking for a Diamond in exchange for 10,000 Coins. This is by far the highest payout available for the item.
However, these requests are extremely uncommon, and it’s possible to finish an entire playthrough without seeing one.
Because of that, a good strategy is to keep one Diamond stored away in case the request appears. Any additional Diamonds can safely be sold or gifted without sacrificing the opportunity to complete the rare contract.
Diamonds are valuable no matter how you use them, but their best purpose depends on your current priorities. Sell them to Chester for a steady income, gift them to strengthen important relationships, or keep one in reserve so you’re ready if the highly rewarding Job Board request appears.
