Tokyo Game Show Reveals for Title Update 3

The Capcom Online Program at TGS 2025 will showcase the full trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 3, expected on September 24th. This stream will feature Omega gameplay, story teasers, and collab details with Final Fantasy XIV.

A demo of Omega’s quest is already playable at TGS. It requires four-player multiplayer and is tuned for experienced hunters. Rewards include a novelty pouch for successful clears, but with difficulty raised even higher than launch balance, most players won’t get through easily. This recalls Capcom’s history of punishing demos, like Dark Souls 2’s Mirror Knight trial.

Omega and Final Fantasy XIV Collab Content

Omega from Final Fantasy XIV is the centerpiece of this update. Hunters can expect:

  • Guidance from Alpha – a returning character tied to Omega’s story.

  • Cactar endemic life – rare, fast creatures returning from Monster Hunter: World.

  • Possible elemental mechanics – weapon demo builds suggest Omega alternates weaknesses between thunder and fire.

The crossover also adds new visuals on the FF14 side: mounts like the Sacred, pets, and weapons themed around jobs like Dragoon and Dark Knight. Omega may appear in multiple forms, or even create new monsters mid-hunt, staying true to its origins.

New Monsters and Guild Report Updates

Beyond Omega, Title Update 3 brings several nine-star tempered monsters:

  • Blangonga

  • Anjanath

  • Dahren Mohran

These high-tier event quests reward rare materials like glowing stones and heavy armorspheres. Capcom confirmed more nine-star versions are coming, opening the door for future expansions of tier two monsters.

Additional updates from recent guild reports include:

  • Palico improvements – toggle support moves, prioritize heals during Wrath from Above, and adjust dialogue frequency.

  • Lobby upgrades – private lobbies now allow hunter friends to join directly.

  • Event quest revisions – permanent quests for farming ingredients and ore, with weekly rotations for variety.

  • Support hunter buffs – higher base attack/defense and a new hunting horn specialist, Kai.

  • Item box improvements – check loadouts and appearances directly outside tents.

  • Arena additions – new quests against monsters like Daimyo Hermitaur and Yian Kut-Ku.

What to Expect in the Omega Hunt

Capcom previewed 14 weapons prepared for the demo, each offering dual elemental builds. For example, Charge Blade users get both thunder and fire options. This strongly hints Omega will shift phases, forcing hunters to adapt weapon choices mid-hunt.

There’s also speculation about a nine-star Omega quest, with the possibility of an even harder extreme form down the line. Event quest teases like the “stake blades” dual blades show Capcom still has fun with silly weapons alongside the serious content.

With the timing of TGS and all the revealed changes, Title Update 3 is shaping up to be a turning point for Monster Hunter Wilds, balancing challenging hunts, collab flair, and quality-of-life fixes.
