You can already change Alma’s outfit in Monster Hunter Wilds. With the Title Update 1 which went live on April 4, 2025, we’re given two more options for Alma’s clothing. However, that’s not the only thing you can customize about her appearance. Completing the Monster Hunter Wilds The Apple Of Her Eye quest will allow you to change Alma’s glasses as well. Let’s walk you through this side quest.
Quest Requirements and Details
Monster Hunter Wilds’ Title Update 1 brought a ton of new content for players. The free DLC, alongside these updates, introduces the option to change Alma’s outfit.
Now, beside her default outfit in the game, players can also dress her up in two more clothing options. The first one is free while the other is paid content. But that’s not all! You can also change her glasses now.
There’s a Monster Hunter Wilds sidequest called The Apple Of Her Eye in which Alma asks you to help find her glasses. They’re not the ones she always wears, but a special pair. Completing this quest will then unlock the option to change Alma’s glasses anytime.
This quest is in the Windward Plains, and you need to speak with Alma to start it. Here are the mission requirements:
- Hunter Rank: around HR 21+
- Quest Completion: The main story quest and high rank unlocked
- Game Update: Title Update 1 downloaded and applied
Monster Hunter Wilds The Apple Of Her Eye Walkthrough
This quest is relatively short, and takes place mostly at the Scarlet Forest. There’ll be a marker to guide you initially after accepting it from Alma. However, once you’ve done that first step, it’s up to you to search the forest for clues and important people.
Here’s a step by step guide through the quest:
- Go to Wudwud Hideout in the Scarlet Forest where a Wudwud named Thunk is.
- Speak to Thunk at the entrance, who will tell you to check the downriver.
- You can follow the quest marker and teleport to the base camp near Area 2.
- Look for a Wudwud named Scampshroom at the downriver. They can be seen digging in the mud.
- Scampshroom will tell you that an unnamed Wudwud in Area 2 found something red. When you find them, it will trigger a cutscene where they escape.
- Go back to the Wudwud Hideout and speak to Thunk again. If your game is set to any time and environment except nighttime and plenty, Thunk will ask you to come back during these times.
- You can go to your tent and rest before changing the time and environment. When you go back to the Hideout, Thunk will point you towards the upper parts of the tree.
- When you find the Wudwuds in a feast, ask four of them and learn about Ayejack, who apparently has Alma’s glasses.
- You can find Ayejack in a cocoon-like bed, sleeping while wearing Alma’s glasses. Wake him up and talk to him.
- Ayejack will agree to give you the pair of glasses in exchange for some Eastern Honey. If you don’t have it yet, you can get some from Giant Vigorwasps or by completing the A Leviathan’s Temper quest.
- Return to Alma to give her her special glasses back. This completes the Monster Hunter Wilds The Apple Of Her Eye quest.
The Apple Of Her Eye Quest Rewards
Beside unlocking the option to change Alma’s glasses, the quest also gives you additional rewards. Here’s everyone that Monster Hunter Wilds The Apple Of Her Eye sidequest grants players upon its completion:
