Mongraal and MrSavage’s Mysterious New Trio? (Fortnite Trio Tournament Recap)

Mongraal and MrSavage will play Fortnite Trio, both recently had one of their worst tournament performances. This article also discusses a new strategy for the upcoming Victory Cup that could potentially earn players money, and a recap of the Duo Cash Cup Finals, which saw a lot of drama and interesting storylines, similar to an FNCS, particularly in NA, with players snaking and massive trios splitting up.

The Duo Cash Cup Scene

Duos have taken center stage since trios aren’t currently the game mode, and the Duo Cash Cup offers $10,000 for first place. Players are highly focused on this despite figuring out who their trio partners will be. For example, Peterbot recently dropped Pollo, meaning Peterbot is now without a teammate. He played with Cold last week and won, but this week played with Cented, surprising many as they are close friends in the same organization and even live together.

A lot of people expected Peterbot to aim for a third consecutive win since he won $220,000 in the last two weeks. Instead, he partnered with Sented, who is not at Cold’s or Poyo’s level—both FNCS winners from previous seasons. Sented’s inconsistent participation in Fortnite also added to the surprise. However, they still made the finals but didn’t perform as well, which left Cold without a teammate.

New and Old Duo Dynamics

Cold then teamed up with Bugha, solidifying a trio committed to building their chemistry. Peterbot played with Cold last week, while Booga and Cold teamed up this week. The Fortnite  trio is clearly dedicated to enhancing their synergy.

Some old duos also reunited, such as JoMoq and Rise, while new top-tier duos emerged. Muz and Kanada, for instance, ended up placing second in the Opens. Rapid has now partnered with Bolt after splitting from Batman Buggha, with whom he had a successful few seasons. Rapid and BS won the Open Tournament, and even some EU teams got involved, such as Yapo and Cammy, who qualified on NA. The return of legendary players like AV and QT Hector also made headlines. AV, known for his past rivalry with Tfue and Scoped at Grotto, made it to the finals at the end of Chapter 5, showing big names making a comeback.

Performance Analysis of Fortnite Trio Tournament

Several big duos continued to stick together, including Vortex and Paper, who remain solid partners. Acorn and Pollo competed last week; Pollo ended up pairing with Ritual but didn’t make the finals. Many speculated that Peterbot carried Pollo, especially since they did not perform well this time. However, Pollo and Acorn did manage to reach the finals despite challenges. Queasy also qualified on NA, along with Cooper and Meo, the global champions from over a year ago. Clarity G, another OG, also made a return, with Leo HD—a.k.a. Blood X, the legendary coach of players like Clix—qualifying on NA from the EU region.

Unexpected Tournament Surprises and Dynamics

The finals certainly lived up to the hype, as Rapid and BS managed to win Opens and Finals back-to-back, proving to be an underrated duo on NA. Muz and Kanada almost went back-to-back, securing second in the Opens and third in the Finals. Despite doubts, they proved to be a formidable duo. Noxy and Threats placed second, while Veno and Revis came fourth on NA. Remarkably, Veno played on EU ping alongside Revis. G Money and Oid also made an impressive showing, starting the tournament with three consecutive six-kill second places.
