Mistfall Hunter Ritual Vault Key & Chest Location Guide

The Ritual Vault Chest is one of the valuable locked chests you can encounter in Mistfall Hunter. Opening it can reward you with high-tier equipment, rare crafting materials, and even powerful Artifacts, making it well worth tracking down.

However, finding both the chest and its key isn’t always straightforward. The key is a random drop, while the chest itself is tucked away inside the Brandgarde map. Here’s where to find both and what rewards you can expect.

How to Get the Ritual Vault Key

The Ritual Vault Key is an Excellent-quality key that drops exclusively on the Brandgarde map. It can appear on both Normal and Apocalypse difficulty, although the exact drop remains random.

While it isn’t guaranteed from any single source, several locations consistently provide the best chances of finding one.

Torture Chamber

The Torture Chamber, located north of the Main Hall through a network of side passages, is widely considered the best farming location for the Ritual Vault Key.

The area contains numerous lootable objects, including:

  • Treasure chests
  • Breakable vases
  • Fallen Gyldhunter corpses
  • Other environmental containers

These loot sources all have a chance to contain the key.

Be prepared for a difficult fight, however. The Torture Chamber is filled with Corroded enemies, including Elite Corroded Priestesses. Their torch attacks deal heavy damage and can inflict the Burning status effect, making the enclosed room especially dangerous.

Hero’s Rest and Graveyard

Another reliable farming route is the area around Hero’s Rest and the nearby Graveyard.

Search every grave, corpse, and loot container you encounter. While the drop isn’t guaranteed, these locations frequently provide valuable loot alongside a chance to obtain the Ritual Vault Key.

Auction House

If luck isn’t on your side, you can purchase the Ritual Vault Key from the Auction House.

Keys are often expensive due to their usefulness, so buying one is usually best reserved for players with plenty of Gyldenblod to spare.

Ritual Vault Chest Location

Once you’ve obtained a key, head to the Ritual Vault in Brandgarde.

The chest is located beneath the southern staircase leading to the upper level of the area. Rather than sitting out in the open, it’s tucked into a corner beside an altar decorated with burning candles, making it relatively easy to identify once you know where to look.

Expect resistance before opening it. Several enemies usually guard the chest, and an Elite enemy may also spawn nearby depending on the instance.

Ritual Vault Chest Rewards

The Ritual Vault Chest can contain some of the better rewards available on the Brandgarde map.

Possible loot includes:

  • Excellent-grade equipment
  • Higher-quality gear
  • Legendary crafting materials
  • Valuable zone resources
  • Artifacts (rarely)

Because the contents are randomized, not every chest will contain the same rewards, but the Ritual Vault remains one of the better locked chests to farm for high-end loot.

Key Durability Explained

Unlike consumable keys, Ritual Vault Keys can be used multiple times before breaking.

The number of remaining uses depends on the key’s condition:

Key Condition Uses
Sacred Key 18
Exquisite Key 14
Fine Key 10
Worn Key 6
Damaged Key 2

Each time you unlock a Ritual Vault Chest, one use is consumed. Once the durability reaches zero, the key disappears permanently.

Keychain Limits

Your character can carry up to four keys in the Worn Keychain.

The keychain also has a maximum total value of 3,500 Gyldenblod, limiting how many high-value keys you can carry at once.

If you want to increase that capacity, purchase a Keychain Repair Kit from the Secret Shop to upgrade your keychain and carry more valuable keys during your runs.
