Midas, Robin, and More: Best Fortnite Season 3 NPCs

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 features several valuable NPCs—some of which can be hired, others who offer essential items. From shockwave suppliers to passive scouts, here’s a complete breakdown of the most impactful NPCs this season.

Supply Specialist NPCs: Synth Wave & Light Rider

The supply specialists are especially useful if you’re relying on utility items. Synth Wave, located east of Resistance Base, and Light Rider, found at Shiny Shafts, can be hired to drop ammo and utility periodically. The key mechanic here is holding a specific item like shockwave grenades when the NPC’s supply cooldown ends—they’ll then drop three of that item.

This system is especially helpful given how rare shockwaves are this season. Ammo resupply is less impactful if you’re consistently eliminating opponents, but for mobility-focused players, these NPCs are essential. Although their supply cooldown isn’t clearly shown, holding the desired item (like shockwaves) when resupply happens ensures consistent support.

Scout Specialist: Kill Switch at Foxy Floodgate

Kill Switch, stationed at the top of Foxy Floodgate Dam, is the sole scout NPC this season. He periodically scans for enemies, loot, and chests. He also sells the scanner device, a useful inventory item that mirrors the scan function.

While some may argue the scanner device makes this NPC redundant, having both provides a powerful advantage. Their cooldowns are separate, enabling more frequent scans. For players who want passive intel without sacrificing an inventory slot, Kill Switch is unmatched. He’s one of the most powerful hires due to his persistent vision advantage.

Heavy Specialist: Haley Sky at Pumped Power (Fortnite Season 3 NPCs)

Haley Sky, found at Pumped Power, is the heavy specialist. She boasts high HP and uses grenades in combat. More importantly, she sells shockwaves and a blue Sentinel Pump.

A powerful trick this season is hiring Haley, dismissing her via squadcoms, then re-engaging to purchase items again and rehiring her for free. With shockwaves now costing more gold and being harder to find, this interaction makes her a mobile shockwave shop. Still, the supply specialists may offer better long-term value by granting shockwaves for free during resupply phases.

Medic Specialist: Lizard at Gas Station North of Shining Span

The Lizard NPC acts as the medic and throws chug splash at you for healing (20 HP per use). While extra healing is always appreciated, the system has flaws. He heals on cooldown regardless of whether you’re full health, which wastes resources. His accuracy can also be questionable, meaning you might miss healing at critical moments.

Though this specialist has situational value—especially in early fights or rotations—it’s not game-changing. Players should still carry healing items rather than relying solely on this NPC.

Mythic Grappler Seller: Robin Near Rainbow Fields (Fortnite Season 3 NPCs)

Robin sells the Mythic Grappler for 600 gold and can be hired as a basic NPC. The Grappler is one per match, so it’s a hot drop zone. Robin is found in the shack near the former Black Market, next to Rainbow Fields.

While his hire value is low, securing the Grappler gives a strong early mobility advantage. The first to reach him will dominate rotations—assuming they survive the competition.

Bonus NPC: Midas at Utopia City

Midas, located in Utopia City, isn’t hireable but offers a Chug Jug for 400 gold and a blue Outlaw shotgun. If the circle ends nearby, this NPC can become critical in late-game survival, especially after a reboot or during rotations with poor loot. Given Utopia City’s central map location, you’ll likely pass by during most matches, making Midas an opportunistic stop.

Should You Hire NPCs in Fortnite Season 3?

While these specialists offer distinct advantages, they can also reveal your location. Enemies often track hired NPCs to spot nearby players. If you’re playing stealthily or trying to rotate unnoticed, that drawback matters.

Still, if used smartly—especially dismiss and rehire strategies or shockwave prioritization—certain NPCs like Haley Sky and Synth Wave can offer major advantages. Kill Switch, due to his vision abilities, remains the best overall.
