Metal Gear Solid Delta: Everything We Know So Far

Metal Gear Solid is one of the most iconic action games, where stealth plays a crucial role. It boasts lots of titles and spin offs. With it being so popular and beloved, Konami teased a remake way back in 2023. The remake we’re all looking forward to was titled “Metal Gear Solid Delta”.

The reasons for calling it Delta is quite an interesting story and indeed is very fitting. Let’s figure that out along with everything we know so far about Metal Gear Solid Delta.

The Great Origin of The Remake

Needless to say, Konami and the great Hideo Kojima produced tons of titles for the franchise. It was a very successful game that lots of players worldwide share fond memories of, after all.

There are a total of seven main titles and ten spin-off games, each brimming with its own charm. Now, why is this particular one getting a remake? The title in question is none other than the Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater back in 2004. Of all the games the franchise has, this special one gets to be the basis of the remake Metal Gear Solid Delta.

Although it is subjective and would of course depend on a player’s taste, the said origin game is often claimed to be the best. Due to the majority in the franchise’s community being fond of Metal Gear Solid 3, it got chosen for a remake.

So what makes the game stand out among its other titles? Well here’s some factors:

  • The game offers a rich story. It gave us the origin story of “Big Boss”, also known as Naked Snake. He’s the mentor of the other main character in the other Metal Gear Solid games, Solid Snake.
  • Enhanced survival elements. The game introduces mechanics such as hunting for food, mending injuries, and of course the awesome camouflage.
  • Iconic setting and characters. The game acquainted us with some of the most memorable characters in the series. It also has the jungle as the setting, which is a simple yet enriching way to elevate the thrill.

When Would The Remake Be Released?

Following the early leak that surprised the community, Konami soon released the official trailer. According to the video, Metal Gear Solid Delta is set to release on August 28, 2025. That is truly a solid promise, since last year we didn’t get the expected release date.

The makers also humored us with the reasoning behind the name “Delta”. They said that it was most fitting because the game incorporates the change via enhancements and not by structure. The soul of the original game will be kept, but it will receive an advanced technology makeover compared to the years before.

The game would be available to play on platforms such as Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Although ways to purchase and how to pre-order is yet to be revealed.

Teased Special Content “And more…”

Within the trailer that teased the enhanced gameplay mechanics in the jungle that we’re all excited for, there is something else. The classic game “Ape Escape” made an appearance in the video in the midst of it all. A hint at a collaboration which is funny yet fitting in a way since the setting is in a jungle, so a Monkey makes sense!

But wait, there seems to be far more to come and we’re still grasping on what to expect. As the trailer concluded, it gave us a cliffhanger in the form of “And more…”. This could possibly be a hint that there will be not just one collaboration for Metal Gear Solid Delta.

Conclusion

It’s been a long wait for this bad boy, Metal Gear Solid Delta, the remake. It was supposed to be released last year but the stealth game’s release date was nowhere to be seen. When we least expect it, just like in the game, we are caught off-guard with the trailer and release date.

Much is yet to be known about the contents of the game. It is still under camouflage but at least we have something to look forward to. Soon enough, we should be getting more information anyway, so let’s patiently let Konami cook!
