Mecha BREAK Launches July 2 on Xbox and PC

After several betas that drew over 300,000 concurrent Steam players, Mecha BREAK officially launches on July 2 for Xbox Series X|S and PC. This free-to-play mech shooter from Amazing Seasun Games brings fast-paced combat, extensive customization, and multiple multiplayer modes into one of 2025’s most anticipated releases.

Mecha BREAK Strikers, Combat, and Customization

The core of Mecha BREAK revolves around its “Strikers,” mech suits categorized into five types: attackers, defenders, supporters, brawlers, and snipers. Each of the 13 Strikers comes with unique kits, such as Falcon’s heavy missile launcher and aerial mobility or Skyraider’s energy missiles and plasma barrages. Combat in Mecha BREAK is energetic, with battles transitioning between ground and air, requiring players to manage armor and energy wisely.

Customization also plays a major role. Mods—earned from supply crates—adjust stats like boost speed and recovery. Players can fuse mods of the same rarity into higher tiers via mod assembly. At launch, mods only function in Mashmake, a PvE-VP mode, keeping competitive modes balanced. Paint jobs, decals, and pilot appearance can also be tailored, and unlike many games, visual customization remains free.

Mecha BREAK Multiplayer Modes and New Maps

Mecha BREAK offers several modes across 6v6, 3v3, and PvE-VP formats. Operation Verge (6v6) features objective-based modes such as dual payload races and node control in maps like Crob Sinkhole. Players must balance offense and defense to win these fast-paced missions.

Ace Arena, a 3v3 deathmatch mode, is all about securing eight kills before the enemy team. Four exclusive maps support this mode, available right at launch—unlike the betas.

Then there’s Mashmake, the game’s PvE-VP extraction mode. Up to three players (or solo) drop into a zone filled with AI enemies and bosses, collect mods, and attempt to extract. Other players roam the map too, creating tense moments. Gliders and modular weapons, available from the start, enhance gameplay. Players must tread carefully—dying means losing everything looted.

New maps, such as a lunar base, have been teased, along with two unreleased Strikers: Solaris, a fast brawler, and Sarinith, a tactical attacker.

Launch Changes, PC Specs, and Crossplay

One of the biggest improvements at launch is that players no longer need to grind to unlock Strikers. Twelve will be available immediately, fixing a key criticism from the beta. However, the developer has not shared how future Strikers will be unlocked.

The character creator lets players customize their pilot with detailed sliders for everything from skin tone and hairstyle to face shape and outfits. These changes can be made freely at any time.

The hangar—where players walk around as their pilot—offers limited interaction at launch. While you can’t yet meet other players there, a gym and gun range were teased and may arrive in future updates.

Minimum PC specs include 8GB RAM, GTX 1650 or RX 570, and an Intel i5 6500 or Ryzen 3 1300X. Recommended specs target 16GB RAM and GPUs like the RTX 3060 or RX 5700 XT. An SSD is highly advised for smooth gameplay.

Mecha BREAK supports crossplay between Xbox Series X|S and PC. However, cross-progression is absent for now, and it’s unclear if PS5 support is coming. That said, shared matchmaking with PC could raise balance concerns for console users depending on anti-cheat measures.
