They are officially launching the Marvel Zombies mode on Thursday, October 23, 2025! However, some regions may see the game later on October 24, depending on local time zones. But following Marvel Rivals’ update schedule, it’ll likely go live around 4AM CT.

The release will also coincide with the upcoming Season 4.5 content drop and the Midnight Mayhem Halloween costume event. So, better be up early for October 23 to immediately try this new PvE mode.

Playable Characters and Enhanced Abilities

In this new mode, Marvel Zombies will limit your hero selection to five specially enhanced characters. Each hero possesses unique abilities that make them more powerful compared to their regular versions. These skills were designed to handle zombie waves and tough boss fights.

The playable roster includes:

Hero

Boss

Zombie Namor

Serves as your first boss challenge. A corrupted version of Sub-Mariner that will test your skill beyond regular zombie waves.

Scarlet Witch

The Queen of the Dead. Defeating her triggers a special cutscene featuring Wanda.

Gameplay and Map Details

For Marvel Zombies, it will take place on the Empire of Eternal Night Midtown map. It transforms the familiar location into an unrecognizable nightmarish battlefield. Although the objective is pretty straightforward, the path towards it is challenging.

You have to survive against multiple zombie waves while progressing through increasingly difficult boss encounters. Plus, the mode emphasizes combat skills and teamwork by offering a less stressful alternative to PvP matches. NetEase already released brief gameplay footage to give players an idea of what to expect from this new mode.

The video displayed a four-player squad battling through Midtown’s zombie-infested streets. You have to work together as a group to survive against the surge.

Will Zombie Mode Be Permanent?

In the meantime, it remains unknown whether Marvel Zombie will become a permanent stay in Marvel Rivals. For now, it is stated as part of the Midnight Mayhem Halloween event this October 2025. Perhaps, its long-term availability depends on the success and feedback of the mode upon release.

Conclusion

Marvel Rivals rekindled excitement for most players with the addition of Zombies PvE mode for Midnight Mayhem. It is launching on October 23, 2025, challenging your competitiveness and strategy against endless zombie waves. Besides the undead, you’ll also have to defeat two bosses to unlock a special cutscene!
