Marvel Rivals Tier Debate: Ultron Isn’t F-Tier—Here’s the Proof

Ultron’s ultimate in Marvel Rivals drew criticism for its damage, but that’s missing the point. This is not a damage-focused ability—it’s a high-output healing skill with minor AoE damage. Ultron heals teammates for 500 HP per second for 8 seconds, outperforming all other support ultimates in total healing. Luna Snow heals 250 per second for 12 seconds, Invisible Woman offers 165 for 8 seconds, and Cloak and Dagger sits at 250 for 13 seconds. Ultron trades uptime for raw healing strength.

Additionally, it heals any ally within sightline. You don’t need to reposition or place a device; just look at your target. This gives Ultron reliable healing, even in split fights or disorganized teams. The damage output—85 per second—won’t melt opponents, but that’s not its function. It supplements team survivability while doing just enough to contribute.

His only real vulnerability is during flight. Since his ult lifts him into the air, coordinated teams might shoot him down. Still, the raw healing power makes this worth the risk, especially in defensive setups or grouped engagements.

The Healing Drone Is Constant and Invincible (Marvel Rivals Ultron)

The healing drone defines Ultron’s playstyle. It provides 50 HP per second to the main target and 35 HP per second in its radius. That may not sound game-changing until you realize it never goes on cooldown and cannot be destroyed.

Compared to other strategists, Ultron comes out surprisingly strong. Mantis’ healing flower gives 20 HP per second. Adam Warlock’s Soulbond heals for just 15 per second, with added damage reduction. But both have cooldowns and limitations. Ultron’s drone keeps healing as long as it stays in line of sight. Yes, breaking LoS disables it, but placing it smartly avoids this issue.

You can rely on this drone to top off tanks or keep frontliners steady. It adds enough passive healing that burst-focused supports can focus elsewhere. In triple support or strategist setups, Ultron plays a passive but useful role.

Ultron’s Damage Output: Situational but Functional

Ultron’s primary attack charges for 150 total damage (75 charge + 75 burst). While its rate of fire is slow, smart positioning offsets this. Peek, burst, then retreat behind cover while it resets. In tight spots or choke points, this pattern works well.

There’s damage falloff over distance, which some streamers overlooked. His attack works like a hitscan beam, but damage drops at range. So, standing far back and holding fire like a sniper won’t yield full value. However, used up close or mid-range, he can reliably pressure or finish low-health targets.

Comparing him to Adam and Mantis, Ultron has lower sustained DPS but offers higher per-shot impact. That makes him effective as a burst support hybrid, capable of punishing overextending enemies. While not dominant in duels, his output is enough to support his healing-focused playstyle.

Team Role: Third Strategist and Off-Healer (Marvel Rivals Ultron)

Ultron’s place in Marvel Rivals is not as a main support or damage dealer. He shines in triple strategist comps, especially when teammates need consistent passive healing. If your group lacks coordination, Ultron compensates with ease of use. He’s a lower-skill ceiling pick that can still get value in casual or gold/platinum ranked games.

He won’t outperform a well-played Adam or Mantis, but he provides teamwide utility without constant micromanagement. With a low-cost ultimate (~3,400 energy), he also cycles it faster than Luna Snow or Cloak and Dagger.

His team-up with Iron Man adds solid healing in bottlenecks, though the 30-second cooldown limits its spammability. Still, it’s a decent emergency tool in tight group fights.

Ultron is not F-tier. He’s misunderstood, especially by players who spent two minutes in the firing range and logged off. With future balance patches, his drone or damage numbers may receive a bump—and that could easily push him into high-tier status.
