Marvel Rivals Season 3.5 Adds Blade and Major Hero Changes

Season 3.5 of Marvel Rivals arrives with a mix of new content and sweeping balance adjustments. Blade makes his debut as a new Duelist, while several heroes gain or lose team-ups, prompting kit adjustments. Alongside these updates, multiple characters see buffs, nerfs, and mechanical tweaks that could shift the current meta.

Blade Joins as New Duelist

Blade’s kit offers both melee and ranged pressure. His Ancestral Sword swings five times for 92 total damage, while the Hunter Shotgun delivers 45 body damage or 90 headshot damage, with a unique spread mechanic beyond 8 meters for 96 base damage.
His ultimate, Thousandfold Slash, deals 100 initial damage, 450 damage over time, and applies a 40% healing reduction. Daywalker Dash changes based on weapon — sword dashes trigger a whirlwind slash, while gun dashes knock enemies back and apply healing reduction.

Bloodline Awakening grants permanent aura effects with faster attack speed and 35% lifesteal but reduces healing from allies and pickups by 40%. Scarlet Shroud functions as a parry, granting front-facing damage reduction and dash cooldown reduction for each projectile parried. His team-up with Cloak and Dagger enables a free dash to enemies for 60 damage without consuming Daywalker Dash cooldown.

Changes Across the Roster

  • Doctor Strange: Increased Daggers of Denak ammo from 8 to 10; reduced Cloak of Levitation cooldown from 15s to 12s.

  • Groot: Vine Strike range boosted from 20m to 22m; Flora Colossus wall radius up from 20m to 24m. Gains Wild Wall team-up from Mantis, allowing five walls and 40 HP/sec healing near them.

  • Magneto: Shield value for Metal Bulwark and Iron Bulwark reduced from 300 to 250 HP.

  • Thor: Gains fixed Thor Force on early exit from Awakened State; Lightning Realm now grounds enemies leaving its area for two seconds.

  • Black Panther: Spirit Rend cooldown increased from 8s to 10s; louder footstep and jump audio for easier tracking.

  • Iron Fist: Loses Atlas Bond team-up and 10% damage boost, now anchors Luna Snow’s Chilling Assault with new Lunar Chi healing aura. Receives multiple damage buffs and extended health decay timers, including Jeet Kune Do fifth strike from 50 to 55 damage, Yat Gi Chung Kun percentage damage per strike from 2.1% to 2.7%, and Klun Kick first strike from 30 to 35 damage.

Marvel Rivals Season 3.5 Team Up Changes

  • Star-Lord: Loses Adam Warlock revive synergy; gains Rocket Raccoon’s Astral Jump teleport beacon with no range limit. Gains 25 bonus health on Stellar Shift use.

  • Wolverine: Last Stand cost raised from 2,800 to 3,400; loses lifesteal ultimate charge from Primal Flame team-up with Phoenix.

  • Spider-Man: Backflip distance cut from 12m to 7m; Amazing Combo uppercut follow-up improved; Spectacular Spin DPS increased from 150 to 170.

  • Adam Warlock: New healing mechanic tied to Cosmic Cluster hits in Avatar Life Stream; Karmic Revival cost lowered from 5,000 to 4,700 and now grants revived allies 70% bonus health for a short time.

  • Cloak and Dagger: Eternal Bond ultimate cost raised from 4,000 to 4,300.

  • Loki: Loses Ragnarök Rebirth team-up; gains Mantis’ Dic Blessing team-up for 25% damage boost inside Regeneration Domain.

  • Luna Snow: New Light Shadow Karma synergy with Adam Warlock, tethering enemies and granting lifesteal. Synergizes with her Cryo Heart passive for high sustain.

  • Mantis: New anchor for Groot and Loki’s Vibrant Vitality, boosting her healing by 10%, but reducing Healing Flowers output and Life Energy Blast ammo.

Meta Impact and Role Adjustments

These changes target overperforming heroes like Black Panther while boosting utility for characters such as Doctor Strange and Star-Lord. The reallocation of team-ups significantly alters synergy options, potentially reshaping optimal team compositions. Blade’s arrival adds another aggressive option for Duelist players, and several underused abilities receive upgrades that may improve viability in competitive matches.
