Marvel Rivals has just revealed an exciting new Cloak and Dagger skin, along with a fresh Venom skin. Fans of the game can now get a closer look at these designs, along with gameplay details showcasing their unique aesthetics and effects.
Cloak and Dagger’s Twilight Duo Skin Arrives
Marvel Rivals officially announced these skins in a post yesterday, introducing the Venom – Lingering Imprint skin and the Cloak and Dagger – Twilight Duo costume. Cloak and Dagger remain one of the most popular character duos in the game, making this reveal a significant one. The Venom skin, Lingering Imprint, was first seen in Venom (2018) Volume 8, and it enhances the Symbiote’s evolving power, imprinting its might upon those deemed worthy.
Meanwhile, Cloak and Dagger’s Twilight Duo costume brings a unique aesthetic, inspired by the radiant streets of Sicily. This skin intertwines shadows and light, symbolizing the duo’s eternal dance in secrecy and justice. The design takes inspiration from old-school mafia elements, featuring gold jewelry and classic mob-style hats, adding a vintage gangster flair to the characters.
Both skins will be available on March 6 at 6:00 PM PST (March 7 at 2:00 AM UTC). However, inconsistent time zone advertisements across social media have caused some confusion regarding the exact release time.
Debunking the ‘Loser’s Queue’ Theory
Shifting away from skins for a moment, there has been ongoing debate about a concept known as Loser’s Queue in Marvel Rivals matchmaking. Some players believe that losing multiple games in a row places them in a designated queue that pairs them with weaker teammates, making it difficult to climb ranks. While this theory exists across multiple competitive games, there is no solid evidence to support it.
Although ranking up in Marvel Rivals is easier compared to other games, extended losing streaks can be frustrating. However, many solo players have still managed to reach high ranks, debunking the idea that matchmaking deliberately holds players back. Ultimately, losing streaks likely come down to bad luck and team composition rather than an intentional ranking suppression system.
Clone Rumble Event and New Battle Pass System
In addition to new skins, Marvel Rivals is introducing a fun new game mode called Clone Rumble, launching tomorrow. In this event, all players will control the same character, creating a chaotic yet entertaining battlefield.
Alongside Clone Rumble, a new mini battle pass event will be introduced. This event features a board game-style progression system, where players roll a four-sided dice to advance. Rewards include sprays, loot drops, and even a brand-new Black Widow skin. Players will earn dice rolls through gameplay, most likely by winning matches.
This event format is a fresh approach for Marvel Rivals, as they haven’t implemented a board-style reward system before. It remains to be seen whether this will be a one-time event or a recurring feature in future updates.
What’s Next for Marvel Rivals?
With Season 2 approaching, Marvel Rivals is ramping up its content releases. Patch notes are expected soon, potentially revealing balance changes or new features.
The staggered release of updates can be frustrating for players eagerly awaiting new content, but more details will likely emerge in the coming days. The Clone Rumble event, Twilight Duo skin, and Lingering Imprint Venom skin will add more variety to the game as the season progresses.
Are you excited about these upcoming additions? Do you believe in the Loser’s Queue theory, or do you think losing streaks are just bad luck?
