The Marvel Rivals store welcomes a new batch of cosmetics with the Fantastic Four: First Steps bundle, launched to coincide with the upcoming film release. All four members—Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and The Thing—received new skins priced at 3,400 units for the complete set. Individual skin bundles are also available for 1,400 units each, and include a spray, nameplate, and emote. However, none of the cosmetics currently offer an MVP screen, likely due to spoiler concerns. A post-release group MVP screen may arrive once the film is out.
Mr. Fantastic’s design includes a blue-collared outfit and a four-finger emote. The skin’s accompanying spray and nameplate strongly resemble Pedro Pascal’s likeness. Invisible Woman, modeled in her white-collared outfit, includes an emote where she turns partially invisible while flashing peace signs—four fingers total, referencing the team. The Human Torch features a new haircut and lights his finger like a candle for his emote, although the nameplate’s likeness to Joseph Quinn remains debatable. The Thing’s design stands out visually, and his emote showcases a three-finger salute. Each skin features in-game footage highlighting its animation quality.
Players purchasing the full bundle also receive the Devourer of Popcorn spray—a Galactus-themed popcorn icon—exclusively as a bonus. The cosmetics fall under the Epic tier, so there are no alternate sound effects or voice lines.
Human Torch and Thing Team Up Mechanic
A new team-up mechanic arrives alongside the skin drop: Human Torch can lift and fly with The Thing for up to 8 seconds before slamming him into the ground. This slam damages nearby enemies, launches them upward, and inflicts a damage-over-time effect that prevents mobility-based abilities. This new feature mirrors a scene from the Fantastic Four: Final Steps trailer and currently has a cooldown of 30 seconds.
Initiating the combo involves a cooperative activation, similar to other team-up mechanics in Marvel Rivals. Human Torch sees a targeting ring to guide the slam, or The Thing can cancel it mid-air. No official removal date exists for the team-up feature, leaving its long-term availability uncertain.
Upcoming Skins in Marvel Rivals Season 3.5
Beyond the Fantastic Four, the in-game lore hints at future skins tied to Season 3.5. New entries in Jeff the Landshark’s story mention a symbiote encounter on Klyntar where both Mantis and Star-Lord briefly came under the influence of Knull. The lore confirms they retained their symbiotes post-conflict, making Venomized skins for both highly likely.
These additions align with the existing battle pass, which already includes symbiote-themed skins for Rocket Raccoon, Groot, and Jeff. Leaks suggest these skins are part of the next wave of content arriving mid-season. Alongside these, the Phoenix Demon and Phoenix Panther skins have been officially confirmed for release in the upcoming week.
Weekly Update and Bug Fixes in Marvel Rivals
This week’s update introduces quality-of-life adjustments and resolves several long-standing bugs. Players now receive 15 accessory points per match, and 10 when playing versus AI, improving accessory unlock pacing. Key bug fixes include:
-
Spider-Man: Resolved a display issue when both Spider Tracer and Burn Tracer were active.
-
Phoenix: Fixed character model scaling in hero select and addressed an issue where ultimate movement was tied to frame rate.
-
Black Widow: Fixed Edge Dancer causing interruptions in multi-stage abilities.
-
Rocket Raccoon: Corrected a bug where reviving one teammate would show two on HUD.
-
Cloak and Dagger: Prevented interactions between ultimates and teammate teleportation, including Loki shapeshifts.
Notably, Phoenix’s ultimate is now unaffected by frame rate inconsistencies. Previously, lower frame rates gave players more control over her aerial movement during ultimate activation, while higher frame rates caused erratic drifting. This change brings consistency across all hardware setups.
Marvel Rivals continues to expand its roster and cosmetic offerings while refining gameplay. Between the Fantastic Four collaborations, team-up mechanics, and teased symbiote skins, Season 3.5 looks packed with content both cosmetic and functional.
