The Lord of the Rings Online has finally brought back the Mariners Event for 2025, and this year’s edition comes with both the classic Tale of the Shipwrecked Mariners and the extended Stowaway: The Old Man on the Shore. With two different questlines, cosmetic rewards, and unique barter items, this seasonal event gives players plenty to do in Middle-earth.

LOTRO Mariners Event Dates
The LOTRO Mariners Event 2025 runs from September 17, 2025, until 3:00 AM Eastern (-4 GMT) on September 24, 2025. During this time, players can participate in both event questlines along the Brandywine River and in Evendim. Once the event ends, all barter opportunities and quests will close, so make sure to finish what you want before the deadline.
Tale of the Shipwrecked Mariners
This questline begins just north of Buckland on the Brandywine River, where Argirion, First Mate of the Gilminuial, introduces the event. From here, players travel to Captain Aranhir in Evendim to progress the storyline.
The main activity involves collecting Kegs of Cram and Bottles of Ale from scattered Waterlogged Crates along the river shore. These items are then returned to Argirion to complete the quest.

Bartering: Quartermaster Mindambeth stands near Argirion, offering cosmetic rewards like a Mariner’s Hat, an Eye-Patch, or both.

Completion: This questline can be completed once per character, but players can still collect Cram and Ale afterward for barter.

Stowaway: The Old Man on the Shore
The second half of the event starts with Falnavar in Evendim, located near Barandalf on the Brandywine at approximately 16.3 South, 60.6 West. Unlike the Shipwrecked Mariners, this is a progressive mission chain with 11 stages, each unlocking after the last is finished.

Rewards: Completing the full chain grants a Mariner-themed cosmetic set, making it one of the standout prizes of the event.

Daily Missions: Missions are limited to once per day, but Mithril Coins can be used to bypass the waiting time.

Progression: The missions also provide Legendary Item XP, adding gameplay value beyond cosmetics.
The Stowaway questline takes more commitment than the Shipwrecked Mariners, but it offers some of the most unique rewards.
