Los Ratones Take The Lead in NLC 2025 Winter Seeding

“The Rats” are dominating! Los Ratones, the newly formed professional League of Legends (LoL) esports group under the LEC are showing great promise. At the ongoing Northern League of Legends Championship (NLC) 2025 Winter Seeding, Los Ratones is leading in Group A matches with two wins and no defeats. Let’s dive into the details.

Who is Los Ratones?

You’ll expect almost every LoL player and fan to know Marc Caedrel Lamont, or Caedrel, as an ex-pro player and streamer/content creator. He’s known for referring to several LoL pro players and his fans as “rats”, and now, it stuck to his new venture as well. He now has founded and also coaches his own pro LoL team, Los Ratones.

The members are:

  • Top Lane: Simon “thebausffs” Hofverberg in the Top Lane,
  • Jungler: Veljko “Velja” Čamdžić
  • Midlaner: Tim “Nemesis” Lipovšek
  • ADC/Bot Laner: Juš “Crownie” Marušič
  • Support: Martin “Rekkles” Larsson

This mix of pro players and content creators surprisingly seems to work, as evidenced by Los Ratones’ previous performances. Los Ratones is officially under the NLC, which is part of the European Regional Leagues (ERL) circuit.

Los Ratones in NLC 2025 Winter Seeding

Starting the 2025 season for the NLC, the Winter Seeding will decide where the 10 participating teams will fall on the Playoffs brackets. The teams are divided into two groups who will play a single round robin. The Top 8 teams (4 from each group) will then move on to the Winners’ Bracket in the double-elimination Playoffs.

Los Ratones are in the NLC Winter Seeding’s Group A with:

  • Bulldog Esports
  • NORD Esports
  • Verdant
  • Lundqvist Lightside

For the first week, on January 15, Los Ratones hasn’t lost any game, winning over both NORD Esports and Lundqvist Lightside. On January 22, the Seeding Stage’s second week, we’ll see if they can also take down Bulldog Esports and Verdant.

Double Best-of-One Wins

In the season opener against NORD Esports, Los Ratones undoubtedly came on top, dominating the Bo1 game. Quickly finding a lead and building it toward their eventual win, they achieved a KDA of 20/7/58 and a huge gold advantage to top it off. Los Ratones also showed amazing map and objective control, taking all towers down and getting to NORD Esports’ base in under 27 minutes.

Their next game against Lundqvist Lightside was even more impressive, racking up 25 kills and 60 assists with 9 deaths. Again, the game was finished within 27 minutes, with Los Ratones knocking on Lundqvist Lightside’s base after taking the Baron. Velja and Rekkles especially shined in this game, with the jungler on Viego having a 10/1/11 KDA alone.

Conclusion

Even as they are making a very fresh debut in rhe NLC, Los Ratones is already showing some formidable strength. It’s a given that they have Rekkles, who is already established as one of the LEC’s best ADCs and an amazing Support for T1 Academy. Yet, it is the whole roster and their synergy that enables their best plays to happen.

We await the results of NLC 2025 Winter Seeding Week 2 to see if Los Ratones can stay undefeated in this round-robin. Then, their next goal would be to win in the Playoffs and be NLC Winter 2025 champions. Could they do it?
