If you’ve watched the stunning “Welcome to Noxus” cinematic, then you surely already had a glimpse of what’s to come. Welcoming the 2025 competitive Season 1, League of Legends (LoL) brings us Noxus, the land where the strongest gather. Red, black, and gold clearly represent this nation, and it’s not surprising for the new League of Legends Noxus skin line to also flaunt these colors.
League of Legends: Welcome to Noxus

The new LoL 2025 format has made it so that the whole year will be divided into three seasons. Each season is designated to be themed according to one region in Runeterra, introducing the game’s rich lore and world building.
For the first season, it’s fitting that they chose Noxus, which is home to many League champions, including the recently released Ambessa Medarda. The cinematic released to welcome the season featured Ambessa’s daughter, Mel, reconnecting with her Noxian roots. This seems to follow where her story left off in Arcane, the Netflix hit series based on League of Legends.
Instead of Mel’s signature white and gold outfit in Arcane, “Welcome to Noxus” featured her in dominantly black and red Noxian attire. The cinematic blended LoL with Arcane, especially with the Arcane studio, Fortiche, animating it. Other characters in the video, Katarina and Elise, also showed off with some designs closely resembling their League of Legends Noxus skin.
Masque of the Black Rose Skins

First to deliver Noxus-themed skins is the “Masque of the Black Rose” skin line. The whole line includes six champion skins in total, with one of them being a Prestige skin.
- Katarina (Prestige)
- Vladimir
- Elise
- Samira
- Renata Glasc
- Ezreal
In the lore, Vladimir, Samira, Renata Glasc, and Ezreal, are invited to the Silken Danse. This ball arranged by Elise for the Black Rose Order is highly prestigious, only gathering esteemed nobles across Runeterra. Katarina, however, slips into the ballroom in disguise to perform an assassination (in which she succeeds).
As for why Katarina only gets one version of her skin, that being the Prestige, Riot explains that they have a goal of making Prestige skins truly exclusive and rare. While other Prestige skins have non-Prestige versions, maybe we will have exclusively Prestige skins for champions going forward.
Where to Get a League of Legends Noxus Skin?

While Masque of the Black Rose is the first and only confirmed Noxus skin line from this year’s Season 1, we can expect more to come in the future! For now, here’s how you can obtain each skin in the Masque of the Black Rose set:
The Elise skin will be the only one that can be obtained through the Free Battle Pass. The others except Ezreal will be available to claim for every 10 Premium Battle Pass levels, with Prestige Katarina of course being at the highest stage (Level 50). Masque of the Black Rose Ezreal can be purchased directly from the Shop for 1350 RP.
Conclusion

We are definitely excited to see and obtain these luxurious skins now that Patch 25 S1.1 has arrived. Among various other changes to League of Legends, this Noxus skin line is just majestic. Which one are you looking forward to claiming?
