League of Legends LCP Mid-Season: Dates, Teams, and More

An exciting Mid-Season split is about to hit the community starting with League of Legends Championship Pacific (LCP). Fans, better prepare to cheer for your Pacific teams as it will start on April 19 and run until June 8, 2025. Here’s everything you have to know about the LoL LCP Mid-season.

Tournament Format and Schedule

Riot Games confirmed the LoL LCP Mid-Season to follow the traditional format, dividing into regular season and playoffs. For the regular season, there will be eight competing teams for a single round-robin of best-of-three matches. It will feature a Fearless Draft format that has been extended until the remainder of the season.

Each game series will include a 1v1 competition, allowing to determine the side selection between teams. The matches will kick off on April 19, 17:30 CST/ 9:30 GMT. This is 30 minutes ahead of the previous split that occurred. It’ll include some exciting matchups rights off the bat with these teams:

April 19:

  • Fukuoka SoftBank HAWKS gaming vs. MGN Vikings Esports (5:30 PM GMT+8)
  • TALON vs. CTBC Flying Oyster on (8:00 PM GMT+8)

April 20:

  • DetonatioN FocusMe vs. The Chiefs Esports Club on (5:30 PM GMT+8)
  • GAM Esports vs. Team Secret Whales on (8:00 PM GMT+8)

Only the top six teams get to advance in the double-elimination bracket after these round-robin stages. There will be best-of-three matches for the first two rounds while the remaining series are conducted in best-of-five. The grand finals, on the other hand, will take place on June 8 to crown the Mid-Season champions.

Participating Teams and Expectations

There are no current changes to the team compositions for the upcoming LoL LCP Mid-season. It’ll retain the same eight-team rosters that played from the first split of the competitive season. This divides the partner from the guest teams this season such as:

Partner Teams:

  1. Chiefs Esports Club (Guest)
  2. CTBC Flying Oyster (CFO) (Partner)
  3. DetonatioN FocusMe (Guest)
  4. Fukuoka SoftBank HAWKS gaming (Partner)
  5. GAM Esports (Partner)
  6. MGN Vikings Esports (Guest)
  7. TALON (Partner)
  8. Team Secret Whales (Guest)

Looking at their previous performance from Split 1 and international stints, CTBC Flying Oyster and TALON Esports are the frontrunners. During the First Stand tournament, CFO stuns the community by nearly defeating LEC champions, Karmine Corp.

Behind these teams are the Vietnamese roster of GAM Esports and MGN Vikings Esports. GAM is hoping to improve its results after gaining experience after international tournaments these past years. Moreover, analysts claim a noticeable disparity between the top four and bottom four seeded teams during the first split. It’ll be a sight to see whether this gap persists or changes through the Mid-season.

The Stakes: International Qualifications

The LoL LCP Mid-Season teams will compete for the prize pool of $80,000. While it may be comparably less compared to other tournaments, this offers teams a chance to enter major international events. The winning team gets a qualification spot to these two major stints:

  1. The Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) in Vancouver, Canada
  2. The Esports World Cup League of Legends tournament in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Moreover, the two grand finalists also secure their places at the MSI, allowing them to win more. Plus, it helps boost their experiences on the international stage. Also, their performance during the Regular season also affects their seeding for the 2025 LCP Season Finals.

How to Watch

The good news for local fans is that Riot Games finally opened the doors of the LCP Arena for LoL LCP Mid-Season split. This gives fans a chance to either watch the tournament in person or through their screens. It’ll be the first time for this season to have spectators watching the matches live in the arena.

This can either be great for teams to receive cheers and support or add up pressure to their current game. The new venue highlights high-end PC setups and bright LED panels through partnerships with MSI and Unilumin. Fans can purchase tickets starting on April 5, 2025, through KKTIX website or FamilyMart in Taiwan.

They will also have multiple broadcasting streams in several languages for those unavailable in person. There are streams in Vietnamese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, and Thai for fans across the Pacific. Here’s where you can watch the English stream of LoL LCP Mid-Season:
