Latest Marvel Rivals News: April Buffs, Nerfs, and Skins Breakdown

In this week’s Marvel Rivals news,  leak has revealed a full guide to every cosmetic item available in the game up to this point. Players can unlock around 28 cosmetics, including skins, emotes, and more. Items are color-coded in the showcase—green items are currently claimable, red items are no longer available, and yellow can be unlocked using units or through the hero tab.

Several fan-favorite heroes have received standout free skins, including Wolverine, Black Widow, Iron Fist, and Groot. The Thor skin is another community favorite, while the Battle Pass also features a unique Iron Fist skin. These cosmetics cover all roles—Word, Dies, and Strategist—which players have appreciated for offering a wide range of variety. The developers’ generosity with free rewards has been well-received.

Marvel has also published Issue #10 of the Infinity Comic series. In this issue, the battle against Ultron appears to reach a turning point thanks to a surprise move from an unexpected hero. While the art style has received mixed reactions, many readers have praised the comic’s tone and narrative.

Discord Event: 4.5M Invitation Challenge + Giveaway

Marvel Rivals launched a new Discord community event titled the “4.5 Million Invitation Challenge.” The campaign encourages users to invite friends to the official Discord to reach the massive 4.5 million-member milestone ahead of Season 2: Hellfire Gala.

The rewards include:

  • AMD graphics cards

  • In-game currency

  • Steam gift cards

  • Exclusive Discord roles

Players gain one point per successful invite and can check draw chances using the server’s command system. Once the milestone is hit, lottery winners will be chosen. Alongside this, a content creator also announced a giveaway of five luxury battle passes. Winners will be drawn mid-season from the channel’s subscribers.

Magneto’s Ultimate: A Problem That Needs Fixing?

A recent post sparked discussion about the state of Magneto’s ultimate. The ult’s energy bar causes the issue—when it reaches 100 and players don’t manually activate it, they lose the entire ultimate.

Players are calling for a quality-of-life change that auto-triggers Magneto’s ult at full charge to avoid accidental waste. Given that Magneto’s ult can already be interrupted by damage, the suggestion received widespread agreement. Many believe this fix would help make Magneto more consistent without giving him an unfair advantage.

A user-created character concept for “Misery” has gained attention for its creative strategist-based gameplay. Here are some highlights from her proposed kit:

  • Screaming Threats: Damage enemies and convert damage into healing for Misery.

  • Silent Threats: Heal allies using HP at the cost of her own.

  • Symbiotic Donors (Passive): Empower Carnage and Anti-Venom with unique effects.

  • Hellmarked (Ultimate): Grants bonus HP and enhances her primary scream and silence abilities with burn effects.

  • Waring Bonds: Grants intangibility and lets her phase through walls.

The concept focuses on dual symbiote synergy (Scream and Silence) and high-risk, high-reward healing mechanics. Many fans have praised its originality and would like to see Misery introduced officially in the future.

Latest Buffs and Nerfs from April 13 Update (Marvel Rivals News)

The April 13 balance update brought meaningful buffs to underperforming strategist heroes and nerfs to popular picks. The data reflects several shifts in hero win rates:

Buffed Heroes:

  • Doctor Strange: +0.14%

  • Winter Soldier: +0.54%

  • Autumn Warlock: +0.15%

  • Cloak & Dagger: +0.08%

  • Lunasnow: +0.06%

  • Mantis: +0.20%

Winter Soldier saw the most improvement and could potentially become a meta-relevant pick if momentum continues. Other strategist heroes have also benefited from minor tweaks.

Nerfed Heroes:

  • Captain America: -0.22%

  • Spider-Man: -0.19%

  • Groot: +0.06% (despite nerfs, his win rate rose slightly)

Groot’s meta resilience surprised many as his Ironwood wall changes failed to dent his effectiveness. Spider-Man and Captain America slightly declined in performance but still remain viable.
