Free Hogwarts Legacy Giveaway End Time
Hogwarts Legacy is the headline free game of the current Epic Games Holiday Sale and is available to claim at 100% off from December 11 to December 18, 2025. The free window ends on December 18 at 11 a.m. Eastern Time (10 a.m. Central / 8 a.m. Pacific), after which Hogwarts Legacy will go back to its usual paid price and a new mystery freebie will unlock.
Multiple outlets and community hubs confirm that this is a one‑week giveaway, including coverage that calls out December 11–18 as the exact free period and notes that Hogwarts Legacy is “this week’s free game” on the store. A highly upvoted thread on the r/Games subreddit repeats that the game is “free to own on Epic Games Store until December 18th,” reinforcing the same cutoff date for players watching from the community side.
How to Claim Hogwarts Legacy Free Epic Deal Safely
To claim the Hogwarts Legacy free Epic deal, you need a standard Epic Games account and access to the store via browser or launcher on Windows PC. Once logged in, head to the Hogwarts Legacy store page or the Holiday Sale free‑games section, hit the “Get” button while it shows 100% off, and complete the zero‑cost checkout before the countdown timer hits zero.
When you redeem the game during this window, the license becomes permanent: Hogwarts Legacy remains in your Epic library and can be downloaded and played later even after the promotion ends. The giveaway applies to the base edition; store listings and deal round‑ups point out that deluxe or bundle versions are still sold separately, so this freebie does not include any paid DLC, cosmetic packs, or next‑tier editions.
What Hogwarts Legacy Free Epic Players Get on PC
Hogwarts Legacy is a single‑player open‑world action RPG set in the late 1800s Wizarding World, where you play a custom fifth‑year student exploring Hogwarts Castle, Hogsmeade, and the surrounding Highlands. On PC, the game runs through the Epic Games launcher, and official system requirements list Windows 10 64‑bit, a mid‑range Intel Core i5 or Ryzen 5 CPU, 16 GB of RAM, and a GPU such as a GeForce GTX 960 4 GB or Radeon RX 470 4 GB at minimum, with higher‑end hardware recommended for smooth 1080p play.
Combat focuses on real‑time spellcasting, dodging, and ability combos, while progression lets you unlock talents, upgrade gear, and tame magical beasts in dedicated vivarium spaces. There is no traditional co‑op or PvP mode in the version currently offered in the Hogwarts Legacy free Epic promo; all content is built around a solo campaign and optional side activities rather than online matchmaking.
Expert/Player Insight: A widely shared PC gaming buyer’s guide highlights that this is the first time Hogwarts Legacy has gone fully free on a major PC storefront, making it a strong pickup even for players who were on the fence but own hardware that meets the mid‑range specs listed above.
