Master Voyta’s work in Trosky has come to an end, just as he announced in the “Portrait in Red” quest. It doesn’t mean, however, that Henry’s done running errands for him and helping him with his dilemmas. And so, the next Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 DLC quest takes players to Voyta’s hometown of Kuttenberg. KCD2 The Night-Mare marks your first adventure in this region as you help Master Voyta reclaim his stolen art commission.

How to Start the Quest

After completing Portrait in Red, Master Voyta travels to Kuttenberg. You’ll find him in his workshop near the west gate. The building stands out with its red facade and brush icon on your map. During your conversation, you’ll learn that Bellissimo has stolen Voyta’s commission for Sedletz Monastery, setting up the main conflict for the KCD2 The Night-Mare quest.

Gathering Evidence Against Bellissimo

Bellissimo is Voyta’s old rival who had apparently taken over his project at the monastery. Collecting information about him will help Voyta devise a plan to get rid of him. First, you’ll have to investigate Bellissimo’s room.

Breaking Into Bellissimo’s Room

  • Head to the bathhouse in Kuttenberg’s southwest corner and speak with Madam Beata.
  • Wait until nighttime for easier infiltration. Head upstairs and unlock the first door on your left.
  • Continue up the wooden stairs where you’ll find Bellissimo’s room – the first door on your right.

Inside his room, examine the wooden cabinet on the left side. You’ll discover a letter from the monastery that serves as crucial evidence. While you’re there, you can lockpick Bellissimo’s chest and steal all of his alcohol bottles to save time later..

Preparing Henry’s Devil Disguise

When you return to Voyta with the information, he’ll then tell you his plan. Voyta wants to use Bellissimo’s own devotion against him and scare him away with a devil disguise. Well, it’s obviously Henry that has to do the work.

KCD2 The Night-Mare requires you to gather specific items for Henry’s devil costume. Then, the plan would be to get Bellissimo drunk before scaring him out of the city with the elaborate disguise.

Required Items:

  • Bascinet with Visor: Instead of buying expensive helmets from Kuttenberg’s armorsmiths, you can get cheap ones from bandits. Any helmet with a visor works since its appearance will change.
  • Three Torches: Visit general traders throughout the city as almost every one sells them.
  • Five Eggs: Purchase these from bakers or grocers. Alternatively, steal them from chicken coops around the city.

After collecting these items, return them to Master Voyta, who then makes the “Spooking Equipment” out of them.

Dealing With Bellissimo

With all preparations made, the only thing that’s left is to carry out the plan. If you’ve already looted Bellissimo’s chest earlier, you’ll just have to wait for him in the tavern. If you haven’t, you’ll have to go back to his room to steal his alcohol. Emptying his personal stash will make him drink at the bathhouse tavern instead where Henry can get him black-out drunk.

The Drinking Session

Around 9 PM, visit the bathhouse tavern where Bellissimo appears. Start a conversation and suggest drinking together. During your conversation, choose dialogue options that encourage him to drink more while you drink less. Consider using a Hair o’ the Dog potion beforehand to reduce alcohol’s effects on Henry.

Once Bellissimo passes out from excessive drinking, carry him to his workshop in the southern part of the city. Your vision will blur as Henry struggles with his own intoxication. Remember to drop Bellissimo before opening doors, as you cannot interact with objects while carrying him.

  • Alternative Outcome: If Henry becomes too drunk and passes out, don’t worry. Find Bellissimo at the bathhouse the next day and either pass a difficult persuasion check or challenge him to a fight outside. Both methods convince him to leave the city.

The Devil’s Performance

If Henry successfully carries Bellissimo to the next location, the “devil’s performance” will then begin. KCD2 The Night-Mare reaches its climax when Henry automatically dons his devil disguise. Confront the drunk Bellissimo about his various sins, including betrayal, drinking, and lying. The most effective approach focuses on his betrayal of friends.

Successfully scaring Bellissimo causes him to flee Kuttenberg, resolving the quest in Voyta’s favor.

Conclusion

Return to Voyta with news of your success. Now, he can return to paint the project that was originally his. You’ll keep parts of the devil costume, including the Lord of Hell’s helmet and garb. This conversation also unlocks additional DLC quests, continuing your artistic adventures in the Brushes with Death storyline.

KCD2 The Night-Mare showcases the game’s creative quest design, blending investigation, preparation, and performance into a memorable experience that perfectly captures the medieval setting’s theatrical elements.
