After completing the arduous task of scaring Bellissimo off, Henry can go and ask for yet another job from Voyta. This quest from the Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 DLC, Brushes With Death, is rather light and comedic instead of heavy. With the right choices, Henry will be trying his hand in “mural painting” as well to receive a missable trophy. Here’s how to do the KCD2 Stained Honour quest.
How to Start the KCD2 Stained Honour Quest

To begin this quest, go to Master Voyta’s workshop in Kuttenberg and talk to him. There will be two dialogue options, each leading to a different quest:
- Do you need help with anything else? – Stained Honour
- I’d like to know about your past. – Man Proposes
Pick the first option and hear Voyta’s complaints about a certain customer. He’ll tell you that he had painted a fortress wall commissioned by the bailiff of Pschitoky. The bailiff promised to pay him with a Lapis Lazuli gem, which Voyta could turn into ultramarine blue pigment.
However, he has since then gone back on his word and offers Voyta a large amount of groschen instead. Voyta tells you to collect this gem, or otherwise deface his painting on the fortress wall before leaving.
Finding and Confronting the Bailiff

Travel to Pschitoky village and head to the large construction site. During daytime hours, you’ll find the bailiff either at the construction area or in his upstairs chambers. When you speak with him about Voyta’s payment, he’ll tell you that he can’t give you the stone.
The bailiff treats the gemstone as his lucky charm and wants to keep it to win the affection of Lady Adela of Mnischek. Instead, he offers to give you the lapis lazuli in exchange for helping him impress Lady Adela.
The Bailiff’s Plan

The bailiff asks you to insult Lady Adela publicly so he can step in and challenge you to a duel. He says that you must lose this staged duel so he can “defend her honor” and win her affection. Tell the bailiff that you’ll agree and set off to talk to Lady Adela.
While you gave the bailiff your word, there are multiple ways to proceed with the KCD2 Stained Honour quest.
- Option 1 – Follow the Plan: If you agree to the bailiff’s scheme, find Lady Adela near the willow tree west of the construction site. Insult her as agreed upon, which will trigger a duel with the bailiff. During the fight, let him win by missing your attacks or blocking poorly. After his victory, he’ll hand over the lapis lazuli as promised.
- Option 2 – Reveal the Plan to Lady Adela: Alternatively, you can reveal the bailiff’s plan to Lady Adela. She’ll be outraged by his manipulation and ask you to defeat him in fair combat. If you win the duel, she’ll reward you with over 1,000 groschen. However, this approach means you won’t get the gemstone from the bailiff directly.
You can also pickpocket the gemstone from the bailiff during the daytime to finish the quest faster. However, that will void your chance for a missable trophy. If you want to collect all achievements in the DLC, we recommend going with Option 2.
Defacing the Painting on the Fortress Wall

After receiving your groschen reward from Adela of Mnischek, tell her again about the gemstone. She’ll suggest that you steal it from the bailiff and say that she’ll tell her guard not to interfere. This will allow you to complete Voyta’s request of defacing his painting for the KCD2 Stained Honour quest.
If you go during daytime, you’ll be able to receive the “Painted” trophy/achievement but possibly not the gemstone. So, it is recommended to sneak during the night. Wear dark clothes and drink a Nighthawk potion to avoid being discovered easily.
Head upstairs to the first door on the right to find the bailiff’s room. Near the window by his bed, you’ll see Voyta’s artwork. You can examine and deface this painting, which counts as completing one of your mission objectives.
This action allows you to finish the quest even without obtaining the lapis lazuli. However, you can still pickpocket the gem from the sleeping bailiff. Just make sure to write over the painting first as the objective might disappear otherwise.
Returning to Voyta
Once you’ve accomplished your goals, return to Master Voyta in Kuttenberg. You can tell him about destroying his work, give him the lapis lazuli, or discuss both topics depending on your actions.
Conclusion

Successfully completing the KCD2 Stained Honour quest will reward you with the Miser’s Cuirass which Voyta got from the armourer. You’ll also unlock new painting symbols for shields and progress Voyta’s questline. The next mission, “Root of Evil,” becomes available immediately after finishing this quest.
