It’s been a wild week with regards to EA FC 24; Team of the Year players are now included in packs, and the game is at an all-time peak since launch. Amidst the chaos of the TOTY season, EA was nice enough to introduce the Bayer Leverkusen star Granit Xhaka as a player objective. To be honest, I haven’t seen a better objective player so far in the game. Let’s break down this card and see how we should be using him in-game.
Positions
Granit Xhaka has two options in terms of positioning. You can play him as a defensive midfielder or a central midfielder. Irrespective of his position, he has a ton of attacking attributes, one of which includes a 99 shot power and 90 long shot attribute. Being the player he is, you don’t have to enter the box with Xhaka. Instead, you could opt for a more long-range-oriented game and try shooting from outside the box to score some wonderful goals with him.
Player Stats
Overall, Xhaka comes equipped with 81 Pace, 83 Shooting, 93 Passing, 83 Dribbling, 84 Defending, and 89 Physical. The 89 physical stat is why players are using him more as a central defensive midfielder, as he’s capable of retrieving the ball in crucial parts of the field. The only worrying attribute is the lack of pace, but you would want him playing high up the field throughout the game; hence the pace wouldn’t matter as much.
Playstyle Recommended
The Granit Xhaka Objectives card offers the option for the following playstyles: incisive pass, power shot, pinged pass, long ball pass, slide tackle, bruiser, and relentless. The Shadow chemistry style would be the ideal pick for this player as it increases his acceleration and overall pace, which are the only two concerning stats. Once you’ve sorted out his pace, this card becomes an all-around card with excellent stats for both attack and defense.
How to Get the Card?
You can unlock Xhaka after completing these challenges in Squad Battles, Rivals, or Champions.
- Score 3 goals in separate matches using a Premier League player.
- Score 14 goals using an English Premier League player.
- Feature 6 Premier League players in the starting lineup and score in 3 separate matches.
- Feature 6 Spanish players and win six matches.
You might need 2 teams to complete these challenges with ease. An alternative would be to feature players like Thiago, Cucurella, and Rodri who help complete two challenges at the same time. Granit Xhaka is a perfect fit for those who’ve built their teams around the German league. With Bayern Leverkusen going unbeaten in the league so far, it completely justifies the introduction of this card.
For anyone taking FUT seriously, they would know the importance of overpowered objective cards, and as of now, this card tops the list. If this is the first among the many objective players coming soon, I’d be on the constant lookout for objective player leaks and shape my team accordingly. A 99 power shot player who can be used as a defensive option is most certainly overpowered; getting it as an objective player is an even bigger bonus.
