Destiny 2 Ash and Iron has finally arrived after months of teases, bringing new weapons, armor sets, and exotic gear that players have been waiting for. While the exotic mission isn’t live just yet, Bungie has packed plenty of rewards into the event launch. Here’s a full breakdown of what’s available right now and what’s coming over the next few weeks.
Ash and Iron Events and Activities
The event kicks off with Reclaim, a new activity that drops portal rewards along with two event weapons: a rocket launcher and a grenade launcher. For launch week, players also have access to Call to Arms, an event track tied to Reclaim. Call to Arms disappears in six days, but Reclaim itself will stay active throughout Ash and Iron.
Reclaim rewards aren’t limited to its own event. Drops can also tie into other seasonal events like Iron Banner, Arms Week, and Festival of the Lost. Toward the end of Ash and Iron, before the launch of Renegades, a live event will allow farming for some of these limited-time drops, making it a good opportunity to chase rare loot.
Submersion Crossbow and Exotic Weapons
One of the headline rewards is the Submersion crossbow, a high-impact frame stasis weapon. It has a rare chance to drop during Ash and Iron activities when events are active. Perks include Autoloading Holster, Impulse Amplifier, Lead from Light, and the new Aggregate Charge, which increases damage for each elemental debuff on a target. Its origin trait, Contending Cascade, boosts reload and handling speed after chaining kills, and final blows can cause elemental explosions.
Two exotic weapons are also tied to the event. The first is the Wolf Bane axe, available through an exotic mission launching October 7. Its perks revolve around quicks nanoids that heal and enhance damage. Fully charged heavy attacks can unleash a flaming Quicksilver Swarm NATO. The other is the Rocket Pulse, this season’s exotic with Atomizing Rounds that embed into targets and can be detonated to suspend them.
Armor Sets and Perk Bonuses
Ash and Iron introduces two armor sets so far. From solo ops comes the Smoke Jumper set, which grants bonuses like damage reduction after picking up an orb of power and special ammo plus health after finishers. For PvP, there’s the Disaster Corps set, which provides health regeneration and improved performance for auto rifles, scouts, and sidearms under certain combat conditions.
Additional armor sets are confirmed for upcoming activities including epic raids and Iron Banner, though details on their bonuses remain hidden for now.
Legendary Weapons and MIDA Synergy Gear
Several new legendary weapons round out Ash and Iron’s loot pool. Highlights include:
-
Romantic Death (Void wave-frame grenade launcher) – comes with perks like Repulsor Brace, Reverberation, and Chain Reaction.
-
Folded Route (Void rocket launcher) – capable of rolling Cluster Bomb, Lasting Impression, and Bipod.
-
Seraphine Haze (Stasis SMG) – features new perk which grants melee energy on elemental pickups.
Beyond those, Bungie has added new MIDA synergy weapons. The MIDA Macro Tool shotgun drops from Crucible matches, while the Merit Tool SMG offers solar damage and a perk pool including Incandescent and Burning Ambition. Returning pair weapons like Unfall (paired with Sturm) and the updated Drang also get refreshed perk pools.
Lastly, from portal activities, players can earn the Haliaetus rocket launcher, a strand weapon with the Bray Legacy origin trait and perks such as Cluster Bomb and Binary Orbit.

What to Expect Next
Ash and Iron is setting the stage for Destiny 2’s next big expansion, Renegades. With new exotics, armor sets, and synergy gear, players have plenty to chase during the event’s run. The Submersion crossbow remains the crown jewel of the loot pool for now, though the Wolf Bane axe promises to steal the spotlight once its exotic mission goes live in October.
