The Hollow Soul is one of the most valuable progression items in VV: Ultimatum, offering Hollow players an alternate path to becoming a Vastocar. Instead of relying solely on the standard evolution route, Menoscar and Adjucar players can craft this item to unlock additional endgame features without starting over.
What Does a Hollow Soul Do?
Using a Hollow Soul transforms eligible Hollow characters into a Vastocar, granting access to several powerful upgrades.
The item’s main benefits include:
- Evolving a Menoscar or Adjucar into a Vastocar.
- Unlocking a fourth Hollow Trait.
- Gaining access to a Resurrección weapon.
- Providing an alternative progression route without restarting your character.
Keep in mind that the fourth Hollow Trait is assigned randomly, so there is no guarantee it will complement your current build.
How to Craft a Hollow Soul
A Hollow Soul cannot be obtained as a direct drop. Instead, you’ll need to craft it at a Crafting Table.

How to Get Hogyoku Shards
Hogyoku Shards are the hardest crafting material to acquire.
They can be earned from several activities, including:
- Loot chests
- Quest rewards
- Raids
- Limited-time events
Since Hollow Souls require three Hogyoku Shards—and the material is also used in other recipes—it’s worth saving them whenever you find one.
How to Farm Dark Essences
Dark Essences are much easier to obtain than Hogyoku Shards.
Players can earn them by defeating Hollow enemies and completing quests throughout the game. Depending on your progression, they can also be crafted from Hollow Parts after reaching the required level.
Because they drop regularly through normal gameplay, most players will accumulate enough Dark Essences while working toward other progression goals.
How to Get a Soul Chain
Soul Chains can drop from Hollow enemies and are also available as rewards from certain quests.
Although they are less common than Dark Essences, they are generally easier to obtain than Hogyoku Shards. Regular Hollow farming should eventually provide the Soul Chain needed for the recipe.
Is the Hollow Soul Worth Crafting?
