How Arknights: Endfield Gacha System Works, EXPLAINED

Summary

    • Pity system requires 120 pulls to guarantee featured characters after a 50/50 at 80 pulls, without carrying progress between different banner rotations.
    • Three character banners serve different purposes including limited characters, beginner six-stars, and a permanent standard option.
    • Weapon gacha has separate Arsenal Tickets acquired from character pulls and has more generous rates with guarantees as 80 pulls.

GRYPHLINE finalized the gacha system for Arknights: Endfield which generated mixed reaction among their players. While some features stand out as player-friendly, others raised concerns regarding accessibility for free-to-play gamers. Take a look at how Arknights: Endfield Gacha System works with this guide!

How the Three Character Banners Work

There are three distinct character banners in Arknights: Endfield designed for different purposes. The Chartered Headhunting banner serves as your primary focus, featuring rotating rate-ups for limited characters. It has three characters that will be available simultaneously such as Laevatain, Gilberta, and Yvonne.

This banner is particularly unique as all three characters remain in the pool regardless of which one has the current rate-up. With this, you can still pull Gilberta even during Laevatain’s featured period.

On the other hand, the New Horizons Headhunting banner caters to beginners in the game. It serves as a faster route to obtain a six-star character you can use in-game. You have to earn currency for this banner by progressing through the main story.

It features all standard six-star characters including Ardelia, Ember, Lifeng, Last Rite, and Pogranichnik. This closes permanently after you successfully pull a six-star character from this banner. Then, the Basic Headhunting banner serves as a standard permanent option among the gacha systems.

While it uses the same pity system as Chartered Headhunting, this shouldn’t be your priority unless you have excess resources. What’s good in this banner is that it offers a six-star selector after 300 pulls with no time limit attached.

The Pity System Explained

Contrary to what many players expect, Arknights: Endfield uses different pity mechanics for their gacha system. Every 10 pulls guarantees you with at least one five-star character while the six-star drop rate is at 0.8%. Only at 65 pulls the soft bit begins, guaranteeing you with a six-star character on your 80th pull.

Now, at the 80-pull mark, you’ll face a 50/50 system where you will receive either a standard six-star or the featured banner character. You will have to continue pulling until 120 pulls to secure a current rate-up character if you lose the 50/50. The single pull will cost you 500 Oroberyl while 5,000 Oroberyl for the 10-pull.

Take note that your first 30 pulls plus 10 free pulls from Urgent Recruitment as part of the launch bonus. However, it won’t count toward your pity counter and only gives you free rewards from the gacha pull. Moreover, your pull count doesn’t carry over between different banner rotations.

Meaning to say, failing to reach 120 before the banner ends after you lost the 50/50 at 80 pulls resets the extra pulls for next rotation. It is significantly different from other games where losing the 50/50 once guarantees you the featured character on your next six-star pull.

Weapon Gacha: Arsenal Issue Banner

The weapon gacha has a completely different currency system than the character ones. You’ll need Arsenal Tickets instead of the Orberyl to pull a weapon. These tickets are obtained from character pulls or converting premium currency.

However, the banner doesn’t allow you single pulls and only performs an “Issue” that grants you with 10 weapons simultaneously. Also, the rates here are far more generous as:

    • 4 Issues (40 pulls): Guaranteed six-star weapon
    • 8 Issues (80 pulls): Guaranteed featured weapon
    • 10 Issues (100 pulls): Arms Offering Crate (You can select any non-featured six-star weapon)

Alternatively, you can bypass the entire gacha system and just purchase these weapons directly using Arsenal Tickets. This system is more free-to-play friendly compared to Endfield’s character banners.

Earning Premium Currency and Resources

You can get up to 135 gacha pulls, a six-star character Ardelia, and multiple six-star weapons through their launch events. However, these might take long-time to earn considering they are celebration rewards. If you want to earn more Oroberyl, obtain them from chests during the world exploration and new Weekly Routine feature.

This feature will also provide you with Arsenal Tickets you can use for acquiring weapons. It functions as another steady source aside from character pulls or converting your currency. After you reach 60 pulls on the Chartered Headhunting banner, you’ll automatically get a bonus 10-pull voucher.

You can use this on the next Chartered Headhunting banner plus your progress toward the 80-pull pity carry over to the next banner within the same period. Make sure your target character remains in the pool following the major update cycle.

Conclusion

Overall, the weapon system serves as the more free-to-play friendly out of the gacha system in Arknights: Endfield. You have to be extra strategic when trying to pull characters as the progress doesn’t carry over the next banner. Other players find this challenging as they may waste their resources without pulling their desired character.
