Ryan Condal serves as the sole showrunner for this second season, following the departure of his former partner Miguel Sapochnik, who incidentally remains involved as executive producer. Emma D’Arcy and Olivia Cooke are back in their roles as Rhaenyra Targaryen and Lady Alicent Hightower, while Matt Smith, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno and Rhys Ifans are also back on the show. In addition, a number of new faces also join the cast for this second season. These include Clinton Liberty as Addam of Hull, Jamie Kenna as Ser Alfred Broome, Kieran Bew as Hugh, Tom Bennett as Ulf and Vincent Regan as Ser Rickard Thorne. We will also be introduced to a member of the Stark family for the first time in season 2, as Tom Taylor has been cast as Lord Cregan Stark, the ruler of Winterfell.

Season 2 of House of the Dragon will consist of eight episodes and thus will be released in the summer of 2024. Unfortunately, there is no exact date yet. You can watch the new trailer below!
