GTA 5’s Famous Unfinished Skyscraper Is Finally Complete After 13 Years

One of Grand Theft Auto 5’s longest-running visual landmarks is finally finished—although not in GTA Online itself. The permanently under-construction Mile High Club skyscraper has been transformed into the completed Pixel Hotel for nopixel V, the overhauled version of the popular GTA 5 roleplay server launching on September 8.

The change closes the book on a community joke that has existed almost as long as GTA 5 itself. Since the game launched in September 2013, the downtown Los Santos skyscraper has remained a construction site despite years of GTA Online updates changing other parts of the map.

nopixel V Finally Completes GTA 5’s Mile High Club

Rockstar Games recently confirmed the upcoming launch of nopixel V, which will introduce an overhauled roleplaying experience with new locations around Los Santos.

One of the promotional screenshots revealed a particularly notable addition: the unfinished Mile High Club has been completed and converted into the Pixel Hotel.

The original building has been part of Los Santos since GTA 5’s launch, surrounded by cranes and construction equipment. Its failure to make any visible progress across more than a decade of GTA Online updates eventually became a recurring joke within the community.

nopixel V is now giving players a look at what a completed version of the skyscraper can look like.

The Pixel Hotel name also reflects its new purpose within nopixel rather than simply carrying over the Mile High Club identity from GTA 5.

The Skyscraper Stayed Unfinished Throughout GTA Online

The Mile High Club’s construction site has remained largely recognizable throughout GTA 5’s unusually long lifespan.

Over the years, some players speculated that Rockstar could eventually finish the building through a major GTA Online update. A new heist, property, or other expansion seemed like a natural opportunity to transform the site.

That never happened.

The location did eventually play a role in preparation content connected to The Cayo Perico Heist, but the skyscraper itself remained under construction.

Its unchanged appearance became increasingly noticeable as GTA Online continued receiving years of new vehicles, missions, businesses, properties, and other content.

Pixel Hotel Could Become a Major nopixel V Location

Completing the building also creates new possibilities for roleplayers when nopixel V arrives on September 8.

Hotels are naturally suited to player-driven storylines, while the skyscraper’s size and recognizable location could make it an important meeting point within the server.

Exactly how the Pixel Hotel will function in nopixel V remains to be seen, but its reveal immediately gives the new server a landmark that longtime GTA 5 players will recognize.

It is not the official GTA Online transformation that some players imagined over the years, but it does finally provide a completed version of one of Los Santos’ most famous unfinished projects.

GTA 5 Approaches Another Major Turning Point

The timing is fitting for a game approaching a major transition.

GTA 5 launched in September 2013 and has remained active for 13 years, helped substantially by the continued popularity and support of GTA Online. Its longevity has made it one of the industry’s most enduring major releases.

Meanwhile, Rockstar is preparing for Grand Theft Auto 6, which is currently scheduled to launch on November 19.

The arrival of GTA 6 will represent a much larger change for a community that has spent more than a decade in Los Santos. Before that happens, however, nopixel V is resolving one of GTA 5’s oldest running jokes by doing something the original map never did: finally finishing the Mile High Club.
