The Fall Harvest update for Grow a Garden 2 introduces a separate seasonal world with its own Seeds, Gears, currency, and collection of Pets. Most Fall Harvest Pets can appear randomly on the event map or hatch from seasonal Eggs, while several rarer companions are tied to Limited Time Shop Eggs and Chests. Players can also transfer valuable event Pets back to Garden Valley using Magic Mail, an important option while the future availability of the Fall Harvest world remains uncertain.
How to Send Fall Harvest Pets to Garden Valley
Pets acquired in the Fall Harvest world do not automatically move to your regular Garden Valley inventory. Instead, you need Magic Mail from the Gear Shop.
The type required depends on the rarity of the item you’re sending.

The Dog is a defensive Pet designed to punish thieves entering your garden. It checks for intruders every 0.25 to 0.5 seconds, then bites and stuns them. A successful attack forces the thief to drop the stolen fruit they are carrying.

Hedgehog is useful for gardens built around keeping thieves away from high-value crops.

Squirrel

Whenever you plant a Seed, the dragon has a chance to apply the Veil mutation to the resulting crop. The stated activation range is 10% to 37.5%, making Shadow Dragon especially valuable for mutation farming.

Given its extremely low natural spawn and hatch rates, Shadow Dragon should be a priority candidate for Magic Mail if you manage to obtain one.
Jackalope

Jackalope is exclusive to the Exclusive Fall Egg sold through the Limited Time Shop.
Exclusive Fall Egg chance: 50%
Its ability boosts the owner’s walk speed while it bounds around the garden.
The movement increase can help with harvesting, shopping, navigating the event area, and escaping or chasing players during night raids.
Scarecrow
Rarity: Mythic
Scarecrow also comes from the Exclusive Fall Egg.
Exclusive Fall Egg chance: 44.9%
Its ability activates against players who steal from your garden or attack you with a Shovel. The offender receives a full-screen jumpscare that locks them out for roughly 1 to 3 seconds.
That interruption can give defenders enough time to catch thieves before they escape with valuable crops.
Red Panda
Rarity: Super
Red Panda is available through two Limited Time Shop sources:
- Exclusive Fall Egg: 5%
- Exclusive Fall Chest: 5%
At night, Red Panda steals Seeds from other players and delivers them to its owner. The ability activates every 4 to 8 seconds and reportedly has a 95% success rate.
That makes Red Panda a substantially faster stealing Pet than Fox and one of the strongest companions for players who want passive Seed theft.
Kitsune
Rarity: Super
Kitsune is one of the rarest Limited Time Shop Pets.
It can be obtained from:
- Exclusive Fall Egg: 0.1%
- Exclusive Fall Chest: 0.1%
At night, Kitsune sneaks into empty gardens every 5 to 10 seconds and steals fruit. More importantly, it applies the Chakra mutation, which gives the stolen crop a 60x multiplier.
That combination of automatic theft and an extremely valuable mutation makes Kitsune one of the strongest Fall Harvest Pets for generating high-value fruit.
Jandel Monkey
Rarity: Mythic
Jandel Monkey is not obtained through the normal Fall Harvest Pet pool. Instead, it can hatch from several standard Eggs or appear through an Admin Chest.

Jandel Monkey periodically summons a random weather event for the entire server. The effect activates roughly every 9 to 15 minutes and carries a 10-minute cooldown.
Because weather can affect plant growth and provide opportunities for valuable crop mutations, Jandel Monkey has much broader farming potential than Pets limited to a single crop or defensive effect.
Which Fall Harvest Pets Are Worth Getting?
For players focused on crop value and farming, Shadow Dragon and Jandel Monkey are among the strongest options. Shadow Dragon directly supports Veil mutations, while Jandel Monkey can generate weather conditions that benefit an entire farming session. Swan is a more accessible alternative for simply accelerating plant growth.
For stealing, Kitsune is the standout because it combines automatic theft with the 60x Chakra mutation. Red Panda is excellent for rapidly stealing Seeds, while Fox provides a more accessible version of the same general strategy.
Players primarily concerned with garden defense should look toward Dog, Hedgehog, and Scarecrow. Dog and Hedgehog physically interrupt thieves and make them drop stolen fruit, while Scarecrow temporarily disables players through its jumpscare.
The Fall Harvest event contains several Pets with extremely low acquisition rates, particularly Shadow Dragon and the Limited Time Shop Supers. If you obtain one of these rare companions, using Magic Mail to secure it in Garden Valley should be a priority while access to the seasonal world remains uncertain.
