Copper Nuggets in Graveyard Keeper 2 can be mined from an ore vein west of the Yard in the Inquisition Base. Head toward the fishing dock and look for the Copper deposit embedded in the nearby cliff face. Equip your pickaxe and interact with the vein to mine three Copper Nuggets at a time.
Copper becomes increasingly important as you progress because it’s one of the main ingredients for producing Bronze Ingots, which are needed for equipment upgrades, weapons, Bronze Nails, and other crafting projects.
Where to Find Copper Nuggets in Graveyard Keeper 2
The Copper deposit is located west of your Yard in the Inquisition Base.
From your Yard, travel west until you reach a dock where you can fish. Look at the cliff face next to this area and you should see a visible ore vein.
With your pickaxe equipped, walk up to the deposit and interact with it to begin mining.
Each mining action costs approximately four Energy blocks and provides:
1 mining action → 3 Copper Nuggets
Since mining consumes Energy, bring food if you’re planning to gather a large amount at once. This lets you continue mining without returning home to sleep whenever your Energy runs low.
How to Make Bronze Ingots With Copper Nuggets
Copper Nuggets are primarily used to produce Bronze Ingots.
At a Furnace 1, the recipe requires:
| Material | Amount |
|---|---|
| Copper Nuggets | 3 |
| Tin | 1 |
| Fuel | 20 |
| Result | 4 Bronze Ingots |
This makes a single Copper mining action enough to supply the Copper requirement for one batch of four Bronze Ingots.
You’ll still need Tin and Fuel before you can begin production.
How to Unlock Bronze Ingots
Before you can start turning Copper into Bronze, you’ll need the appropriate Metallurgy technology.
Unlock Bronze Forge in the Metallurgy Tech Tree for 20 Metallurgy Tech Points.
These are the red Tech Points earned by performing activities associated with metalworking and related tasks.
Unlocking Bronze Forge gives you access to Bronze production while also unlocking the ability to create Tin and providing the Sluice Box blueprint.
Once you have the technology and a suitable Furnace, you can begin turning your mined Copper into Bronze Ingots.
Can You Make Bronze Ingots Without Copper Nuggets?
Copper isn’t your only source of Bronze Ingots during the early game.
You can also process Bronze Scrap, which is commonly obtained by dismantling Broken Barrels and searching Trash Piles around your Yard.
The alternative recipe is:
| Material | Amount |
|---|---|
| Bronze Scrap | 3 |
| Fuel | 10 |
| Result | 2 Bronze Ingots |
Using Scrap is particularly useful early on because you’ll naturally encounter plenty of debris while cleaning up your property.
However, Broken Barrels and Trash Piles aren’t a permanent supply. Once you’ve cleared them, you’ll need a more sustainable way to produce Bronze.
That’s where the Copper deposit becomes important.
What Are Bronze Ingots Used For?
Bronze Ingots are an important step in Graveyard Keeper 2’s early metalworking progression.
You’ll need Bronze for equipment upgrades and stronger weapons, which become increasingly useful when dealing with the game’s zombie threats.
Bronze is also required to produce other construction materials, including Bronze Nails.
For example, Bronze Nails are used in several early crafting projects and workstation upgrades, making a steady Bronze supply useful even before you begin investing heavily in better equipment.
Copper Nuggets vs. Bronze Scrap
During the opening stages of the game, it’s worth using both sources rather than relying exclusively on one.
Bronze Scrap is convenient because you can obtain it while cleaning your Yard, and its Furnace recipe requires less Fuel. However, the amount available from Broken Barrels and Trash Piles is naturally limited.
Copper Nuggets require mining and must be combined with Tin, but the ore deposit provides a renewable source for ongoing Bronze production.
That makes Scrap useful for getting started and Copper more important once your metalworking operation becomes established.
Best Way to Farm Copper Nuggets
Once you’ve located the Copper vein near the western fishing dock, gathering more is straightforward.
Make sure your pickaxe is equipped, bring enough food to restore Energy, and repeatedly mine the cliff-side deposit. Each completed action provides three Copper Nuggets, exactly enough for the Copper portion of one Furnace 1 Bronze recipe.
Before processing a large batch, stock up on Tin and Fuel as well. That prevents Copper from sitting unused while you gather the other required materials.
The nearby Copper deposit effectively gives you a dependable supply after the finite Bronze Scrap around your Yard has been exhausted. If you’re starting to upgrade equipment or need larger quantities of Bronze Nails and other metal components, the ore vein beside the Inquisition Base fishing dock is the Copper source you’ll want to return to.
