The Mk17, better known as the SCAR-H, is one of the hardest-hitting assault rifles you can find in Ghost Recon Wildlands. Its weapon case is located inside MOB Jaguar in Flor de Oro, a heavily defended Unidad installation that isn’t particularly welcoming to new players.
Between electronic gates, snipers, Unidad soldiers, and anti-air defenses, simply reaching the weapon can be more difficult than finding it. Thankfully, you don’t need to clear the entire base to add the Mk17 to your arsenal.
Here’s where to find the Mk17 and the easiest ways to get inside MOB Jaguar.
Mk17 Location in Ghost Recon Wildlands
The Mk17 is inside the armory at MOB Jaguar, a large Unidad base in the Flor de Oro province.
You’ll find its weapon case in the hilltop portion of the compound. The problem is getting through MOB Jaguar’s defenses in the first place.
There are two practical ways to enter:
- Use a Unidad vehicle to open the electronic gates.
- Parachute into the base from a helicopter.
The vehicle method is generally safer, while parachuting can be much faster if you already have the required skill.
How to Enter MOB Jaguar With a Unidad Vehicle
MOB Jaguar’s entrances use electronic security gates. These gates open when an appropriate Unidad vehicle approaches them.
One option is to deliberately attract Unidad’s attention outside the base. Cause enough trouble for reinforcements to arrive, eliminate the soldiers, and steal one of their vehicles.
Drive the captured Unidad vehicle toward MOB Jaguar’s gate, and you should be able to enter the compound.
Once inside, avoid starting a large firefight if possible. MOB Jaguar contains enough enemies to make a direct assault troublesome, particularly if you’re trying to obtain the Mk17 early in your playthrough.
How to Parachute Into MOB Jaguar
The faster but riskier method is to enter from the air.
Before attempting this, unlock the Parachute skill. You’ll need to abandon your helicopter before Unidad’s anti-air defenses destroy it and then parachute safely into the compound.
MOB Jaguar has a SAM launcher protecting its airspace, so don’t expect to simply land a helicopter next to the armory.
Instead:
- Get a helicopter.
- Fly toward MOB Jaguar at sufficient altitude.
- Jump out before the SAM destroys the helicopter.
- Deploy your parachute.
- Aim for the hilltop section containing the armory.
If you can’t request helicopters from the Rebels yet, check the Combat Outpost north of MOB Jaguar. You can find helicopter spawns there, along with ground vehicles that may provide another way to approach the base.
Where to Find the Mk17 Inside MOB Jaguar
After getting into the compound, head toward the hilltop section of MOB Jaguar.
Look for the armory building and enter it. The Mk17 is waiting inside a weapon case. There’s also an ammo cache nearby, so you can resupply while you’re there.
You only need to interact with the weapon case to permanently add the Mk17 to your available weapons. This means there’s little reason to fight every Unidad soldier in the base if your only goal is getting the rifle.
A stealthy insertion, quick trip to the armory, and equally quick escape can save you a lot of trouble.
Mk17 Stats and Performance
The Mk17 is one of Wildlands’ strongest assault rifles if you value damage and effective range.
Its standout characteristics are its high stopping power and relatively flat bullet trajectory. Compared with many other assault rifles, shots remain easier to place at longer distances, making the Mk17 a solid choice for players who want an AR capable of stretching beyond typical assault-rifle engagements.
That doesn’t mean it replaces a dedicated sniper rifle or DMR. Those weapon classes remain better suited to genuinely long-range shooting, but the Mk17 gives you considerably more flexibility than an assault rifle designed primarily for close-range firefights.
Is the Mk17 Worth Using?
The Mk17 is especially valuable on higher difficulties, where its high damage can improve ammunition efficiency. If a lower-damage rifle requires an additional bullet to eliminate a target, those differences quickly add up during prolonged engagements.
Its biggest weakness is its fire rate.
The Mk17 shoots noticeably slower than some of Wildlands’ other popular assault rifles. Players who prefer overwhelming enemies with rapid automatic fire may get better results from faster weapons such as the M4A1.
Other rifles can also close the damage gap when configured with attachments such as a Long Barrel, so the Mk17 isn’t automatically the best choice for every build.
Still, its combination of strong damage, good range, and reliable performance makes it an excellent weapon to grab early. If you’re willing to brave MOB Jaguar, the Mk17 is a powerful addition to your arsenal that can remain useful throughout the rest of Ghost Recon Wildlands.
