The SC-20K blueprint in Ghost Recon Breakpoint is located inside Bald Peak Mine, northeast of Erehwon. You can collect it shortly after reaching Erehwon, although the mining facility is occupied by enemy soldiers and other defenses.
Also known as the F2000, the SC-20K is a familiar weapon for Splinter Cell fans. In Breakpoint, it’s a hard-hitting assault rifle with excellent range and muzzle velocity, although its recoil and limited attachment selection create some significant drawbacks.
Here’s exactly where to find the SC-20K and whether it’s worth using.
Where to Find the SC-20K in Ghost Recon Breakpoint
The SC-20K blueprint is inside Bald Peak Mine, northeast of Erehwon.
You can retrieve the blueprint almost immediately after gaining access to Erehwon. There’s no need to complete the Deep State storyline or other Splinter Cell-related missions before collecting it.
The easiest route is:
- Finish your initial business at Erehwon.
- Leave through the main entrance.
- Take the helicopter parked outside.
- Fly northeast toward Bald Peak Mine.
- Land north of the mining facility.
- Approach the warehouse on the northern side of Bald Peak Mine.
- Enter through the garage.
- Open the metal weapon case near the rear exit to obtain the SC-20K blueprint.
Approaching from the north is recommended because it puts you relatively close to the weapon case and can let you retrieve the blueprint without fighting the entire base.
How to Get Through Bald Peak Mine
Bald Peak Mine is heavily occupied, so rushing straight through the center isn’t the safest strategy.
If you’re detected, expect to encounter snipers, heavy gunners, riflemen, and enemy reinforcements. There’s also a stationary drone turret positioned around the middle of the mine.
Landing your helicopter north of the facility makes a stealth approach much easier. Stay outside the busiest sections of the mine and work toward the northern warehouse.
You don’t need to eliminate every enemy to claim the weapon. Your only objective is reaching the secure case containing the blueprint, so avoiding unnecessary combat can make this a very quick weapon unlock.
If you do want to clear the base, scout it with your drone first and prioritize snipers and enemies capable of calling reinforcements.
How to Equip the SC-20K
What you do after obtaining the blueprint depends on your Ghost Recon Breakpoint settings.
With Gear Score enabled, return to Maria’s Shop in Erehwon and use the blueprint to purchase an SC-20K. Since you own the blueprint permanently, you can obtain additional versions later rather than relying on random weapon drops.
If you’re playing in Immersive Mode, visit Erehwon or a Bivouac and use the appropriate weapon selection options to equip the SC-20K.
SC-20K Stats and Performance
The SC-20K is an assault rifle focused on high muzzle velocity, strong damage, and longer-range engagements.
Its main characteristics include:
| Stat | SC-20K |
|---|---|
| Weapon Type | Assault Rifle |
| Base Damage | 30 |
| Reload Time | Around 3.5 seconds |
| Major Strength | Range and muzzle velocity |
| Major Weakness | Recoil and handling |
| Underbarrel Attachments | Not supported |
Its high muzzle velocity is particularly noticeable at range. Shots remain effective against distant targets, making the SC-20K a useful option for engaging enemies who would normally be more comfortable targets for a DMR.
This also makes it effective against snipers, drones, and helicopters.
How Much Damage Does the SC-20K Do?
The SC-20K has 30 base damage, putting it above assault rifles that deal around 25 damage per shot.
Against ordinary 100 HP enemies, you can expect roughly four body shots to secure a kill under normal conditions.
The difference becomes more noticeable against tougher Wolves. The SC-20K can eliminate them in approximately five body shots, giving it an advantage over 25-damage rifles that require an additional hit.
Naturally, Breakpoint’s various difficulty, progression, upgrades, and combat settings can influence the practical experience, but the SC-20K’s relatively high base damage remains one of its biggest strengths.
The SC-20K Has Heavy Recoil
The weapon’s biggest problem is control.
The SC-20K has relatively weak accuracy and handling characteristics compared with some competing assault rifles. Both vertical and horizontal recoil can make sustained automatic fire difficult, particularly when engaging enemies at longer distances.
There’s also an important attachment limitation: the SC-20K doesn’t support underbarrel attachments.
That means you can’t simply install a foregrip to compensate for its recoil. You also lose access to underslung equipment such as grenade launchers and shotguns.
For players accustomed to highly customizable assault rifles, this can be a significant downside.
How to Use the SC-20K Effectively
Burst firing is the easiest way to control the SC-20K.
Instead of holding down the trigger during medium- or long-range fights, fire short, controlled bursts and give the weapon time to settle. You’ll retain the advantage of its high damage and velocity without fighting its recoil throughout an entire magazine.
The rifle also performs very well in stealth-oriented builds. Its strong range means you can reliably engage enemies from farther away, while a suppressor helps you clear compounds without immediately alerting everyone nearby.
If stealth fails, the SC-20K still has enough damage output to handle direct firefights. Just be conscious of the long reload and avoid emptying the magazine when you’re exposed.
Is the SC-20K Worth Getting?
Yes. The SC-20K is worth unlocking, especially considering how early you can obtain its blueprint. Its combination of 30 base damage, strong range, and high muzzle velocity makes it effective against regular soldiers and tougher targets alike.
Its drawbacks are equally clear. Heavy recoil makes automatic fire difficult, the reload takes around 3.5 seconds, and the lack of underbarrel attachments limits how much you can improve its handling or expand its functionality.
Despite those limitations, the SC-20K remains a versatile rifle for both stealth and direct combat. Since Bald Peak Mine is only northeast of Erehwon, it’s also an easy weapon to add to your collection near the beginning of a playthrough.
