The Suspicious Ceiling quest in Genshin Impact hides one of the House of Hesperides’ secret chambers above its second floor. Reaching it requires using a Grappling Gun Prime Ice Construct to open the ceiling, followed by a puzzle involving four Cryo Totems. Solving both stages leads to a Precious Chest and another concealed room containing additional rewards.
How to Complete the Suspicious Ceiling Quest
The Suspicious Ceiling puzzle is located on the second floor of the House of Hesperides in Fellfrost Peak.
After triggering the objective, follow the quest marker upstairs. You should eventually reach an area where a Cryoculus can be seen near the railings.
The ceiling above this section conceals the route forward, but you can’t simply climb into it. Instead, open the Prime Ice Construct construction menu and place a Grappling Gun at the designated location.
The Grappling Gun pulls down part of the ceiling and lowers a platform, creating a way into the previously inaccessible chamber above.
Enter the newly revealed room to find several Ikhor dolls and four inactive Cryo Totems. These are the clues and mechanisms for the next puzzle, Secret Chamber in the Ceiling.
Secret Chamber in the Ceiling Cryo Totem Solution
The four Cryo Totems must be activated in a specific sequence. The solution is determined by the number of Ikhor dolls positioned around each monument.
There is one additional complication: the Totems are wrapped in the Tsar’s White Birch. Approaching them too closely causes them to break apart, so you’ll need a character capable of dealing Cryo damage from a distance.
Activate the Cryo Totems in this order:
- Northwest Totem – Look for the monument with one Ikhor doll.
- Southeast Totem – Activate the one surrounded by two Ikhor dolls.
- North Totem – Hit this monument third.
- South Totem – Activate the southern monument last.
Make sure you’re attacking from a safe distance rather than walking directly up to each monument.
Once all four Cryo Totems have been activated in the correct sequence, the nearby locked door will open.
Suspicious Ceiling Puzzle Rewards
Head through the newly opened doorway to find a Precious Chest.
Don’t leave immediately after collecting it. The wall behind the chest conceals another secret area that opens after completing the puzzle.
Inside this additional chamber, Travelers can collect:
- An Exquisite Chest
- A Radiant Spincrystal
- A Cryoculus
That makes the Suspicious Ceiling worth completing even beyond its quest progression. The Grappling Gun opens the initial route, while paying attention to the Ikhor dolls provides the key to solving the Cryo Totem sequence and uncovering everything hidden above the House of Hesperides.
