Genshin Impact Stellar Glimmer Reactions Guide

Genshin Impact Version 7.0 introduces Stellar Glimmer, a new reaction system built around Cryo and specific Snezhnaya characters. Rather than adding another element, the system changes existing Cryo interactions into Stellar-Conduct and Stellar Swirl when a Stellar Linchpin character is in the party, opening up new team compositions for Cryo, Electro, and Anemo characters.

Stellar Glimmer also works differently from conventional reactions. Players cannot simply combine the correct elements and expect it to activate—the party must first meet its character requirements.

What Is Stellar Glimmer in Genshin Impact?

Stellar Glimmer is the collective name for two elemental reactions introduced with Snezhnaya:

  • Stellar-Conduct
  • Stellar Swirl

The system becomes available after interacting with Snezhnaya’s Statue of the Seven and activating the relevant mechanic through the Cryo Traveler.

Once unlocked, Stellar Glimmer changes specific Cryo reactions whenever the party contains a Stellar Linchpin character.

Normally, combining Cryo with Electro produces Superconduct, while Anemo interacting with Cryo produces a standard Swirl. With Stellar Glimmer active, those combinations become:

Elements Standard Reaction Stellar Glimmer Reaction
Cryo + Electro Superconduct Stellar-Conduct
Cryo + Anemo Swirl Stellar Swirl

These reactions replace their conventional counterparts rather than triggering alongside them, making party composition particularly important.

How Stellar-Conduct Works

Stellar-Conduct is triggered by combining Cryo and Electro while a Stellar Linchpin character is in the party.

For example, you can apply Cryo to an enemy before attacking it with Electro. Instead of triggering Superconduct, the interaction creates Stellar-Conduct and generates a Polestar Field.

The field provides several combat benefits. Enemies inside it have reduced Physical RES, while allied characters receive bonuses to Cryo and Electro damage.

More importantly, qualifying attacks performed within the Polestar Field generate Stacks.

Building more stacks before the field disappears strengthens Stellar-Conduct’s overall effect, so the reaction rewards aggressive, sustained combat rather than simply applying Cryo and Electro once and moving on.

For the best results, create the Polestar Field before committing to your main damage window and keep both your character and the target within its effective area.

Radiance: Stellar Conduct

Stellar-Conduct also interacts with the Radiance: Stellar Conduct state available to certain Witch’s Revelation characters.

The characters currently capable of entering this state include:

  • Sandrone
  • Odette
  • Cryo Traveler

Activating Radiance provides additional character-specific effects linked to their individual abilities.

As a result, Stellar-Conduct isn’t simply an upgraded version of Superconduct for these characters. It becomes part of their broader combat kit and can influence how their rotations are structured.

How Stellar Swirl Works

Stellar Swirl occurs when Cryo interacts with Anemo while a Stellar Linchpin is present in the team.

Rather than producing an ordinary Cryo Swirl, the reaction generates a Stellar Vortex.

The vortex remains on the battlefield temporarily before erupting and dealing Cryo damage. Its defining mechanic is that additional Stellar Swirls triggered before the eruption increase the power of the eventual blast.

This makes rapid Cryo and Anemo application particularly valuable.

Instead of triggering one Swirl and immediately moving to another part of your rotation, Stellar Swirl teams benefit from repeatedly activating the reaction during the vortex’s lifespan to build toward a stronger final eruption.

Stellar Swirl’s Exploration Bonus

Stellar Swirl also has a use outside combat.

While exploring Snezhnaya, the Stellar Vortex can increase jump height, helping characters reach elevated areas and navigate obstacles more easily.

This gives Stellar Glimmer an exploration component in addition to its role in combat, particularly when traveling through Snezhnaya’s more vertical environments.

Radiance: Stellar Swirl

Witch’s Revelation characters can also interact with a Radiance: Stellar Swirl state.

As with Stellar-Conduct, entering Radiance can activate additional effects associated with compatible character kits.

This means Stellar Swirl teams are built around more than simply producing a large Cryo eruption. Characters designed for the system can gain further benefits from consistently triggering the reaction as part of their normal rotations.

Which Characters Can Enable Stellar Glimmer?

Having Cryo, Electro, and Anemo characters in the same party is not enough to activate Stellar Glimmer.

A Stellar Linchpin must be present.

The currently available Stellar Linchpin characters are:

Character Element Weapon
Sandrone Cryo Claymore
Odette Cryo Sword
Cryo Traveler Cryo Sword

Including one of these characters enables the party to replace qualifying standard reactions with their Stellar Glimmer equivalents.

This distinction is important when building teams around older characters. An Electro character such as Yae Miko cannot produce Stellar-Conduct on her own simply by attacking an enemy affected by Cryo. A Stellar Linchpin must also be part of the team.

Characters That Benefit From Stellar Reactions

Once the party contains a Stellar Linchpin, several Witch’s Revelation characters can benefit from the new mechanics.

Character Element/Role
Yae Miko Electro DPS/Sub-DPS
Cyno Electro DPS
Alyosha Electro Support
Beidou Electro Sub-DPS
Mizuki Anemo Support
Faruzan Anemo Support
Sucrose Anemo Support
Qiqi Cryo Support
Wriothesley Cryo DPS
Diona Cryo Support

Electro and Anemo characters help trigger the relevant reactions, but they do not independently enable the Stellar Glimmer system.

That makes the Linchpin slot the foundation of any Stellar-focused team.

Best Stellar-Conduct Team and Rotation

A straightforward Stellar-Conduct composition can use:

  • Sandrone
  • Odette
  • Yae Miko or Alyosha
  • Flexible support

The goal is to establish Cryo and Electro application, create the Polestar Field, and then maximize the number of qualifying attacks performed inside it.

A typical rotation is:

  1. Apply Cryo with Odette.
  2. Apply Electro using Yae Miko or Alyosha.
  3. Trigger Stellar-Conduct to create the Polestar Field.
  4. Switch to Sandrone for the main damage window.
  5. Continue attacking while remaining inside the field.
  6. Refresh Cryo and Electro as necessary.
  7. Repeat once the next Polestar Field can be established.

Positioning is crucial. Leaving the field early can reduce the number of stacks generated during the rotation, lowering the value of the reaction.

The ideal setup keeps both the active character and enemies inside the Polestar Field for as much of its duration as possible.

Best Stellar Swirl Team and Rotation

A Stellar Swirl composition can instead use:

  • Mizuki
  • Odette
  • Cryo Traveler
  • Faruzan

This setup focuses on repeatedly combining Cryo and Anemo before the Stellar Vortex erupts.

A basic rotation works as follows:

  1. Apply Cryo with Odette or Cryo Traveler.
  2. Use Mizuki or Faruzan to apply Anemo.
  3. Trigger Stellar Swirl and create the Stellar Vortex.
  4. Continue applying Cryo and Anemo.
  5. Trigger additional Stellar Swirls while the vortex remains active.
  6. Allow the strengthened vortex to erupt.
  7. Begin setting up the next reaction cycle.

The important difference from conventional Swirl gameplay is that the first reaction is only the beginning of the damage window. Repeated Stellar Swirls strengthen the vortex before its final eruption, rewarding teams capable of applying Cryo and Anemo quickly and consistently.

Stellar Glimmer therefore changes more than the names of two familiar reactions. Stellar-Conduct emphasizes sustained attacks within the Polestar Field, while Stellar Swirl encourages repeated reaction triggers before a delayed burst of Cryo damage. In both cases, building around a Stellar Linchpin is essential, making character selection just as important as elemental application when creating Snezhnaya teams in Version 7.0.
