Flockingweed is a Snezhnaya Local Specialty introduced in Genshin Impact Version 7.0 and an essential Ascension material for Alyosha. There are 74 Flockingweed nodes available across the region, primarily around Fellfrost Peak, while fully ascending Alyosha to Level 90 requires 168. That means you’ll need to clear the farming route across multiple respawn cycles.

What Is Flockingweed Used For?
In Version 7.0, Flockingweed is one of Alyosha’s Ascension materials. You’ll need progressively larger quantities each time you raise his Ascension cap, for a total of 168.

Alyosha is currently the only character who uses Flockingweed, although additional Snezhnaya characters could potentially require the Local Specialty in the future.
How to Identify Flockingweed
Flockingweed has a distinctive appearance that helps separate it from the ordinary plants covering Snezhnaya. Look for the unusual vegetation with an animal attached to it.
Most of the available plants are found around Fellfrost Peak, particularly beside roads, rocky terrain, icy sections, and around Tidesong Cavern.
Some nodes are less obvious when surrounded by other vegetation or partially obscured by terrain. A character capable of revealing nearby Snezhnaya Local Specialties on the minimap can make a full farming run considerably easier.
How Long Does Flockingweed Take to Respawn?
Collected Flockingweed returns after 48 hours.
The respawn is tied to when you collect each node rather than a universal daily reset. If you clear your farming route on Monday evening, for example, those plants should be ready to collect again around Wednesday evening.
Since Alyosha requires 168 Flockingweed and a full run contains 74 nodes, you cannot gather everything required for his final Ascension from a single world clear.
Assuming you start from zero, the totals work out to:
- First full run: 74
- Second full run: 148
- Third run: 168+
You therefore need at least part of a third collection cycle when relying exclusively on your own world’s 74 available nodes.
Use the Item Tracker While Farming
Genshin Impact’s in-game tracking features can make searching for Local Specialties much faster.
When Flockingweed is tracked, the map displays blue collection areas that narrow down where you should search. This is particularly helpful during your first few farming runs before you’ve memorized the individual locations.
You can use the tracker to identify the general farming areas, then follow a consistent route between them to minimize unnecessary teleporting and backtracking.
Best Flockingweed Locations in Fellfrost Peak
Most Flockingweed is concentrated around Fellfrost Peak, so there is little reason to jump randomly between individual nodes. Starting around Tidesong Cavern and gradually working through the western and northwestern roads creates a much cleaner farming route.
Tidesong Cavern
Start around Tidesong Cavern, which contains one of the most valuable concentrations of Flockingweed.
There are nine nodes outside the cavern. Clear those first before heading underground.
Once inside, search for another four Flockingweed, bringing the Tidesong Cavern section to 13 nodes in total.
Because this area has such a dense concentration, it’s an ideal starting point for each 48-hour farming cycle.
West of the House of Hesperides
After finishing Tidesong Cavern, travel toward the road west of the House of Hesperides.
There are two Flockingweed clusters around this section. Follow the road rather than cutting directly across the terrain, as the route naturally leads toward the next major farming area.
Icy Chasm
Continue west until you reach the icy chasm.
Search both the roads around the chasm and the lower sections inside it. Several Flockingweed nodes are distributed across this area, so don’t assume everything can be collected while remaining on the upper road.
Checking different elevations is particularly important here.
Northwestern Roads
From the chasm, follow the road northwest.
Flockingweed appears at multiple points along this stretch rather than in one large cluster. Keep following the road and collect each plant you encounter as you move toward the canyon.
Having Alyosha or Odette in the party can be especially useful during this portion of the route because the scattered plants are easier to overlook.
Canyon and Western Road
Continue toward the canyon overlooking the area between Fellfrost Peak and Central Station.
Pick up the remaining roadside Flockingweed around the overlook, then use the western road to head south and clear the last plants along this section.
This completes the main loop and leaves you ready to repeat the route once the materials respawn.
Best Flockingweed Farm Route
For an efficient full run, begin in the south and move through the major clusters before looping along Fellfrost Peak’s western side.
Follow this order:
- Teleport near Tidesong Cavern.
- Collect the nine Flockingweed outside the cavern.
- Enter Tidesong Cavern and collect the four inside.
- Travel west toward the House of Hesperides.
- Clear the two clusters along the nearby road.
- Continue west toward the icy chasm.
- Search both inside and around the chasm.
- Follow the northwestern road, collecting scattered plants along the way.
- Continue toward the canyon overlooking the central region.
- Follow the western road south and collect the remaining Flockingweed.
The goal isn’t simply to move between teleport waypoints as quickly as possible. Following the roads and natural terrain helps prevent you from skipping the scattered nodes between the larger clusters.

Based on the Version 7.0 route, there are 74 Flockingweed nodes available across the region.

Because Alyosha needs 168, clearing all 74 locations twice only gets you to 148. You’ll still need another 20 after the second respawn cycle.
Farm Flockingweed With Alyosha or Odette
Alyosha and Odette can make Snezhnaya material farming easier because their regional exploration passive reveals nearby Local Specialties on the minimap.
Add either character to your active party before beginning the route. The passive is especially valuable when searching the chasm and northwestern roads, where Flockingweed isn’t always concentrated in obvious groups.
It can also help during later farming cycles when you already know the general route but want to ensure you haven’t skipped an individual node.
Can You Buy Flockingweed?
There are currently no shops selling Flockingweed, so you can’t purchase a few extra plants to finish Alyosha’s Ascension.
You’ll need to gather the material directly from its open-world locations and wait for collected nodes to respawn.
That makes starting early worthwhile. Even if you aren’t ready to ascend Alyosha immediately, collecting Flockingweed whenever it’s available prevents the 48-hour timer from becoming a bottleneck later.
How Many Farming Runs Does Alyosha Need?
If you’re starting with no Flockingweed and collecting all 74 available nodes, Alyosha requires three farming sessions in your own world.

Run 3: Collect at least 20 more to reach 168
After your second complete run, there’s no need to clear all 74 locations again unless you want additional Flockingweed for future use. Simply follow the beginning of your preferred route until you’ve collected the remaining 20.
For the fastest routine, clear Tidesong Cavern first, continue west past the House of Hesperides, sweep the icy chasm, and finish along Fellfrost Peak’s northwestern and western roads. Repeat the route after the 48-hour respawn until you’ve accumulated the 168 Flockingweed required to fully ascend Alyosha to Level 90.
