It even includes a time-shift system tied to the protagonist’s homecoming arc.
PlayStation fans can also look forward to new DualSense controllers and faceplates for both the PS5 Slim and Pro, launching on the same day as Ghost of Yotei—October 2. Visually striking and releasing in sync with the game, these accessories complete the themed experience Sony seems to be aiming for.
The only slight disappointment? The lack of traversal improvements. While some had hoped for more agile movement mechanics, perhaps that will still be revealed closer to launch.
Factions 2 May Get a Spiritual Successor from Former Lead
Fans of The Last of Us multiplayer mode Factions 1 are still mourning the cancellation of Factions 2. But a potential glimmer of hope has arrived thanks to Vinit Agarwal—the former Factions 2 lead—who recently announced he’s moved to Japan and is founding a new studio.
One fan reached out on Twitter suggesting he build a PvP game inspired by Factions, and Vinit not only liked the comment but also followed the fan shortly after. While this could mean nothing—or everything—it’s sparked speculation that something Factions-adjacent could be in the works.
Even a 4v4 tactical title with mechanics from The Last of Us Part II could be a huge hit among fans. While nothing is confirmed, the original Factions community has been vocal in its demand for a revival. Sony Bend did a surprisingly good job with that handheld entry, and many fans have never experienced it. Reviving these titles through Premium would finally make the top tier feel complete. New information from Arkane Studios and Papers Enterprises suggests Marvel’s Blade is targeting a release window of late 2027. The game reportedly entered full production in late 2024 after its prototype was approved. That aligns with previous LinkedIn details from campaign director Dana Nightingale, who had been involved since 2022.
