Fortnitemares 2025 Update Brings Ghostface, Scooby Snacks, and New POIs

The new Fortnitemares 2025 update has rolled out with a massive set of changes, introducing new weapons, items, and map updates to celebrate the spooky season. From the Ghostface melee weapon to Scooby Snacks and Jason’s eerie camp, this year’s event brings both nostalgia and chaos in equal measure.

Ghostface and the New Melee Meta

The biggest addition to this year’s update is the Ghostface knife, obtainable from ringing phone booths scattered across the map. It deals between 55–70 damage depending on combo timing and enhances sprint speed, stamina, and jump height. While the limited attack range prevents it from dominating close fights, its scan ability makes it unique — briefly marking nearby enemies, similar to last season’s Tracking Visor.

The Thorn Ripper Chains join the loot pool as a reskin of the Hades Chains from Chapter 5 Season 2, featuring a pull mechanic for enemies and loot. Rounding out the melee lineup is the Chainsaw, a rideable weapon that doubles as a mobility tool. However, with the Shockwave Hammer and other mobility gear still in play, the Chainsaw feels secondary.

Scooby Snacks and Returning Mobility Items

Among all new items, Scooby Snacks stand out as a top-tier healing tool. They restore 10 health or shield every half second up to a total of 250, while granting unlimited stamina and a sprint boost temporarily. Players can expect these to play a major role in endgame rotations.

The Witch’s Broom returns, allowing flight for short bursts, though it now comes with limited uses and a cooldown that feels outdated next to modern movement options like shockwaves or hammers. Crash Pads also re-enter the loot pool, replacing guaranteed Shockwave spawns at OXR Shops, which might frustrate players who prefer consistent loadouts.

Map Changes and New Boss Fights

Four major points of interest were updated, but only two are completely new:

  • Creepy Camps replaces a Resistance base and serves as Jason Voorhees’ territory. The boss drops a Mythic Wood Stake Shotgun, Legendary Slurp Juice, and 800 Gold. Although a medallion for Jason exists in the files, it’s not obtainable yet.

  • Freaky Fields replaces Outpost Enclave, transforming a Star Wars POI into a haunted farm zone.

Other renamed areas include Viny Shafts (formerly Shiny Shafts) and Pumpkin Pass (previously Shining Span). Each retains its core layout but sports a Halloween makeover. Decorations spread across the entire island, emphasizing the seasonal vibe.

Players can also encounter Doja Cat, a hireable boss who spawns in multiple locations, including Freaky Fields and near Supernova Academy. Jason and Doja Cat both offer valuable loot for those daring enough to challenge them.

Weapon Changes and Event Rewards

The Wood Stake Shotgun makes its debut, firing a single projectile with slug-like precision for high-risk, high-reward gameplay. The Pumpkin Launcher returns as a Halloween reskin of the RPG, dealing around 100 splash damage.

Meanwhile, the Wrecker Revolver received a noticeable nerf. Damage and fire rate were both reduced, and range values adjusted — making close combat more rewarding for double pump playstyles. Despite the tweaks, it remains a solid option thanks to its accuracy buff.

The Exotic weapons also return to bunkers, replacing the mythic loot that was briefly available during the K-pop Demon Hunters event. The rotation now includes the Exotic Wrecker Revolver, Precision SMG, Fury AR, and Slap Fizz, mirroring the pre-event lineup.

As a seasonal bonus, players can unlock the Butcher Pig skin by earning 15 account levels during Fortnitemares 2025. The event runs until November 1, giving plenty of time to collect the free cosmetic before the season ends.
