Fortnite Tips for Chapter 2 Remix: Hitscan Tips and Managing Recoil

One of the biggest changes in this season is the return of hitscan weapons. In Chapter 5, all weapons functioned as projectiles, meaning they had bullet drop and travel time. However, in Chapter 2 Remix, the majority of weapons are hitscan once again, just as they were in Fortnite for years. Players no longer need to consider bullet drop or travel time; bullets now travel straight and essentially teleport to the target the moment the shoot button is pressed. Only a few weapons in the current loot pool, like the Harpoon, snipers, and RPG, remain projectiles. Hitscan applies to regular ARs, SMGs, pistols, and shotguns, which means aiming straight at targets without adjusting for drop. Here are some Fortnite tips for the new season.

Understanding Recoil and Bloom – Fortnite Tips

This season places a much stronger emphasis on bloom compared to recent seasons. Bloom affects third-person weapons, causing the crosshair to expand while shooting, which makes bullets hit randomly within the crosshair. Managing bloom becomes a crucial skill when using many ARs. Although bloom may seem purely random, skilled players can minimize randomness by controlling crosshair size based on target distance. When facing close opponents, full sprays work effectively, but against distant enemies, keeping the crosshair small by tap-firing or burst-firing enhances accuracy. Techniques like standing still, crouching, and tap-firing reduce bloom, enabling more consistent aim.

The Role of Snipers Amid AR Bloom

Due to the effect of bloom on ARs, the effective range of these weapons is more limited, highlighting the importance of snipers in long-range engagements. While ARs may struggle to deal high damage from a distance, snipers excel in this range, making them valuable power weapons this season. With the natural limitations imposed by bloom on ARs, snipers are expected to become more effective and sought-after, especially for long-range fights.

Boss NPCs and Their Unique Rewards

This season, several boss NPCs inhabit the map, each offering exclusive rewards upon elimination. For example, Snoop Dog at the Dog Pound drops the Drum Gun, Meus at the Yacht drops the Heavy AR, and Tantina at the Rig drops the Bow. These bosses also become hireable allies after defeat, offering specialized support abilities. For instance, the Snoop Dog NPC provides supplies, Meus offers healing, and Tantina throws grenades. Notably, Tantina’s bow can damage players inside cars if they are within its blast radius, adding an extra tactical advantage.

Using Rifts and the Choppa for Effective Rotations

Rifts are available on the right side of the map under zipline towers. These Rifts don’t disappear after use, making them reliable for easier map rotations. The Choppa, although rare, offers another top-tier mobility option. Known to spawn at the Weather Tower on the map’s edge, securing the Choppa provides the best vehicle advantage for traversing the map efficiently.

Fishing as a Valuable Source of Shield

Fishing serves as an underrated method for obtaining shields and heals this season, allowing players to find items without opening chests. The Harpoon Gun can quickly fish at designated spots, making it easy to secure shields through fishing holes across the map’s rivers and lakes. This strategy provides a backup method for finding shields, ensuring players don’t rely solely on chest loot.

Utilizing Ghost and Shadow Chests for Double Utility

Ghost and Shadow chests provide one weapon and two utility items upon opening. These items may include shields, Grapplers, or other valuable gear, making the chests especially useful with shield scarcity. Found in specific vaults and hideouts, these chests require a disguise or the scanning of knocked guards for access.
