Fortnite Star Wars Galactic Battle Season: Map Changes, New Bosses, and Vehicles Explained

The Star Wars Galactic Battle season arrives in Fortnite with an expansive crossover event packed into a tight one-month window. Epic Games released early patch notes revealing sweeping gameplay changes, weekly updates, new weapons, vehicles, and an end-of-season live event that ties it all together.

Lightsabers, Blasters, and Weapon Overhaul (Star Wars Galactic Battle Season)

To kick off the season, all lootable weapons will be either lightsabers or blasters. This includes a variety of new additions: pistol and SMG-style blasters, two scatter variants resembling shotguns, the close-range DL19, and a scoped A280 that fills the traditional assault rifle role. Returning fan favorites like the DC-15, E-11, and F-11 blasters are also back.

Each blaster has its quirks—some are hitscan for instant impact, while others, like the DC-15 and the IQ11 sniper, are projectile-based with travel time. All of them have infinite ammo but suffer from overheating, which adds a unique resource management element. Captain Phasma, a new boss, will drop a mythic F-11 blaster and a medallion that allows for extended firing before overheating and quicker cooldowns.

Lightsabers return with Jedi training functionality from Chapter 4 Season 2. Players must find marked NPCs like Rey or Jar Jar to obtain force powers. Rey offers Force Push, while Jar Jar grants Force Lightning. Darth Vader drops his throw-enabled lightsaber at his POI.

Vehicles and Map Changes

Two new vehicles make their debut: TIE Fighters and X-Wings. The TIE Fighter is a solo vehicle, while the X-Wing accommodates multiple players. Both come equipped with onboard weapons. These Star Wars aircraft add mobility and firepower, though their durability remains to be seen.

The island’s layout has also shifted, with several POIs re-themed. Demon’s Dojo, Wiffy Wharf, Shogun Solitude, and Hopeful Heights are all now Star Wars locations. These changes set the stage for the season’s narrative but may revert in Chapter 6.

Upcoming Weekly Updates and Characters (Star Wars Galactic Battle Season)

The one-month format means consistent weekly updates. On May 8, Luke, Leia, and Han Solo will arrive as skins. Mace Windu will offer Force Pull training, and Darth Maul will introduce Force Throw, a previously controversial ability from Chapter 4.

May 15 sees the return of Chewbacca and his Wookie Bowcaster, which deals splash damage and may counter aerial vehicles. The CA87 Jawa Scatter Blaster, a powerful single-shot weapon, will also join the loot pool.

May 22 delivers the Mandalorian Update. The Mandalorian himself lands alongside hireable NPCs—Heavy, Scout, Supply, and Medic Mandos. The iconic jetpack and Amban sniper return, alongside a new dual-wield Webar-34 blaster.

On May 29, the Star Destroyer Bombardment update introduces a chaotic twist. One portal per match allows a player to operate the Star Destroyer, causing massive island destruction. While potentially overpowered, it only lasts for a few days.

Death Star Sabotage Event and Battle Pass

The season concludes on June 7 with the Death Star Sabotage event—a full-scale, live narrative finale. Unlike recent mini-events, this will be heavily marketed, with its own game mode and server presence.

The battle pass includes:

  • Apprentice Eevee

  • Poe Dameron

  • Wookie Team Leader

  • Emperor Palpatine

  • General Grievous (unlockable through bonus challenges)

Additional shop cosmetics will feature characters like Jar Jar Binks, Mace Windu, and more.
