How To Bypass The Friday Server Crush
The Shattered event officially starts at 7:00 PM ET on Friday, June 5. If you try to launch your game at 6:55 PM, you will likely get stuck on a loading screen while the event happens without you.
Epic is opening a dedicated Shattered playlist early at 6:20 PM ET. You need to be online and in a lobby before that playlist goes live. Once it appears, queue up immediately. The servers will lock players out as they hit capacity, so securing your spot 40 minutes early is the only safe strategy.
Why Your Faction Choice Actually Matters
Most Fortnite live events force everyone to watch the exact same cinematic sequence. Shattered operates differently. Your loyalty pledge from the Showdown Rivalries tracker dictates your perspective on Friday.
Team Ice King players will reportedly defend the Ice Castle Biome, while Team Foundation players lock down Classified Canyon. You will actively fight alongside your faction leader to secure the Zero Point. Depending on which side wins the overall season conflict, all Battle Pass owners will receive a specific victory style. Team Ice King offers the Exalted Frost variant, while Team Foundation grants the Frost-Ready style.
The Dark Voyager And The Zero Point Shards
While the two factions fight each other, the Dark Voyager is the actual threat. Over the last two seasons, this character quietly collected all the missing Zero Point shards. The recent loading screen drops show him actively manipulating a highly unstable Zero Point.
