Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 just received its last update, and the changes fit the pattern seen in previous end-of-season patches. Epic Games usually unvaults a few items and tweaks some features to set up the mini event. This time, they brought back the Rocket Ram and Business Turret while vaulting the Throwable Launchpad. Players expecting big changes will not find much to talk about. The real highlight is the upcoming mini event, which should add excitement to an otherwise quiet patch.
Rocket Ram Returns but Remains Outclassed
The Rocket Ram has returned to Battle Royale. If you missed Chapter 4 Season 4, you might not realize why some players find this unvault surprising. The current season already features the Rocket Drill, which outshines the Ram in almost every way. You can use the Drill to move high, fast, or in different directions. The Ram locks you into one path and exposes you to enemy fire. Unlike the Drill, you cannot adjust your flight path mid-air with the Ram. Once you launch, you commit to the landing spot, making you an easy target.
Epic Games limited the Rocket Ram to ten uses this season. Previous versions either had more uses or no limit at all. In a season packed with mobility options—such as Shockwaves, the Bat, and cars—the Ram feels outdated. While you can deal some damage by landing on enemies, the risk outweighs the reward. Most players prefer to shoot at others using the Ram instead of relying on it themselves.
Business Turret Unvaulted: Frustration or Fun?
The Business Turret is also back. This item always divides opinion. You deploy the turret by throwing it on the ground, and it fires at nearby enemies. Unlike the Iron Man or War Machine turrets from past Marvel seasons, you must stay near the Business Turret to get value from it. The turret takes time to lock onto targets, so it rarely helps during fast-paced fights. If you set it up before an enemy arrives, you can add some chip damage. However, the turret’s firepower will not usually decide a fight.
Players with aggressive strategies often finish fights before the turret even starts shooting. Defensive players, or those caught by surprise, may struggle more. Some players use the turret for extra help during vault fights, but experienced players usually break into vaults using other tools like Thermite or the Rocket Drill. For most, the Business Turret is a backup option rather than a must-have.
Mini Event Incoming and OG Mode Changes
This update sets up the mini event, which is expected to take place this Saturday. The event will likely continue the portal storyline at Magic Mosses. Right now, information is scarce, but more details should arrive by Friday. Leaks exist, but official channels have not confirmed them.
The update also tweaks the OG mode loot pool. New additions include Clingers, Port-a-Fort, C4, LMG, Heavy Shotgun, Blue Pump Shotgun, and Gray Tac Shotgun. Epic Games vaulted the Smoke Grenades. These changes mostly affect players who enjoy the OG mode, but the main battle royale experience remains unchanged.
