Fortnite Medallion POIs and OXR Rank Farming

This season’s OXR system changes make S+ harder to achieve. Unlike previous seasons, there are no points for simply surviving storm circles. Progress now depends on eliminations and farming bugs. That shift forces players to play aggressively from the start if they want to climb ranks efficiently.

Medallion POIs and Early Points (Fortnite OXR Rank Guide)

The fastest way to start stacking OXR points is by dropping at boss medallion POIs. Eliminating the Queen nets 650 hero points, plus extra points from hives, bugs, and nearby players. These locations stay contested, so early eliminations here often put players at least one full tier ahead. Securing the medallion also unlocks exotic bunkers, which grant 400 points for opening and provide strong loot.

Players who clear these POIs early not only climb faster but also get control over the flow of the mid-game. First access to bunkers ensures both points and powerful weapons, making it easier to keep momentum.

Exotic Bunkers and Medallion Hunts

After clearing the first POI, exotic bunkers become the next priority. Each bunker gives points, loot, and another chance to eliminate high-tier players. Targeting other medallion carriers is vital, as eliminating higher-ranked enemies yields more points than defeating C-tier opponents. Since medallion holders tend to be the most active and dangerous players, removing them makes the rest of the match easier.

Farming Bugs for OXR Rank

Once medallions are secured, bug farming takes over. Clearing purple hives, stashes, and swarm spawns provides steady points and ensures progression toward S+. Eliminating bugs is especially important in the mid to late game when player lobbies die out. Ignoring this step makes reaching S+ nearly impossible.

If OXR shops are still under attack, clearing them grants 400 points, though these are usually taken care of early. Farming bugs efficiently after handling medallion carriers ensures players keep climbing when eliminations slow down.

Rift Drops, Flags, and Late-Game Push (Fortnite OXR Rank Guide)

The fourth-zone Rift Drop provides 500 OXR points, a legendary slurp juice, and a legendary weapon. Because it’s marked on the map, it often attracts enemies, offering both loot and eliminations. Flags are worth 250 points, but capturing them early is inefficient compared to hunting players or farming bugs. Late-game flag captures, when fewer options remain, can still provide the last push needed for S+.

Reaching S+ rewards players with a mythic weapon—Havoc Pump, Overclocked Pulse Rifle, or Mythic SCAR—plus the Super Soldier Boon, which grants unlimited stamina and increased sprint speed. By this point, most of the lobby is already cleared, meaning the advantage usually serves more as a victory bonus than a comeback tool.

Recap

To rank up efficiently in OXR this season:

  • Land at a medallion POI and clear it early.

  • Prioritize exotic bunkers and hunt medallion carriers.

  • Farm bugs consistently in mid and late game.

  • Secure Rift Drops when possible.

  • Use flags only when other point sources are gone.

Getting S+ requires aggression, planning, and consistent farming. Most players who achieve it will have already dominated the lobby long before the final boon arrives.
