Fortnite Marvel Guide: Jetpack Tips, Weapon Mechanics, and Hot New Dropspots

The new Fortnite Marvel chests are scattered across multiple POIs and are not restricted to Marvel-specific locations. Two primary types of chests are available: Avengers chests and Doom chests. These chests provide a decent chance of obtaining higher-rarity weapons. However, they do not guarantee specific items like the jetpack, although there is a solid chance of obtaining Marvel-themed items. For those prioritizing getting the jetpack, focusing on finding these Fortnite Marvel chests is the sort out drop meta.

Fornite Marvel Jetpack in the Current Meta

One of the standout items this season is the jetpack. The mobility it offers is exceptional and can drastically improve movement around the map. The jetpack continuously recharges, making it invaluable for quick rotations, pushing opponents, and general traversal. Many players might struggle with the lack of Nitro this season, and the jetpack fills that gap effectively. Fine-tuning the jetpack’s keybinds is essential.

Monarch Pistol and Sovereign Shotgun The Two Best Guns?

Two new weapons, the Monarch pistol and Sovereign shotgun, have unique mechanics tied to their fire rates. Both weapons adjust their rate of fire depending on whether you are hip-firing or aiming down sights (ADS). The new Fortnite Marvel Monarch pistol receives bonus damage when ADS, while the Sovereign shotgun gains a tighter pellet spread. This tighter spread results in more damage when ADS due to more pellets hitting the target, especially at longer ranges.

However, it’s important to note that the shotgun does not receive any flat damage bonus when aiming; the increase in damage is purely due to the concentrated spread.

Captain America Shield and Shield Bubble

The Captain America shield has stirred mixed opinions this season. Unlike the riot shield, the Captain America shield offers extensive protection, preventing any damage to the user from the front. While spraying the shield can break its block and stun the user, this tactic is challenging in a 1v1 scenario due to the high damage output from the shield throws. However, in team modes, focusing fire on the shield user can break their block more effectively, creating an opportunity for your team to capitalize on the stun.

The shield bubble offers a solid counter to many powerful items this season, such as the War Machine Arsenal, Doom’s Mythic, and the Captain America shield. When inside the bubble, players are fully protected from these threats. However, it seems the shield bubble’s duration shortens when subjected to heavy damage, likely due to missile spam. This makes carrying shield bubbles beneficial, especially in team modes, where they can be strategically deployed to block incoming fire.

The jetpack also serves as a decent counter to missile attacks. While the missiles can hit a jetpacking player, effective side-to-side movements using the Boost can make them much harder to hit. This mobility is especially useful when facing players using the War Machine Arsenal.

Emma Frost Medallion and Scan Strategy

The Emma Frost Medallion provides a scan of the surrounding area on a cooldown. In team modes, this item can be shared among players to maximize scan availability. By dropping the medallion to teammates, they can immediately activate the scan if their cooldown is over. Cycling the medallion between players offers a significant advantage, providing multiple scans in a short period. This strategy is particularly useful when approaching or defending bunkers, where knowing enemy positions is crucial.
