Gem Sprites are new crystal-themed Sprite variants introduced as part of Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3’s New Sprite Day event on August 6. There are nine variants to collect, and each retains the ability of its original Sprite while adding 30% fall damage reduction, potentially making Gem Sprites particularly valuable for players who want both combat utility and extra protection.

What Are Gem Sprites in Fortnite?
Gem Sprites are upgraded crystal variants of existing Sprites. Instead of replacing the original Sprite’s effect with a new ability, the Gem version adds another benefit on top of it.

What Are the Gem Sprite Drop Rates?
Epic Games has not published exact individual drop rates for all nine Gem Sprites, so precise percentages circulating within the community should not be treated as official figures.
Available community data suggests that many Rare and Epic Gem Sprites have drop rates below 0.37%, making even the lower-rarity versions difficult to obtain through normal farming.
Legendary variants appear to be even less common, while certain Mythic Gem Sprites can have an almost nonexistent chance of appearing through standard Sprite Chests.

What Happened to the Gem Grim Sprite?
Gem Grim briefly became available ahead of schedule during the rollout of New Sprite Day.
Epic Games temporarily removed the Sprite on August 5 before restoring it on August 6 when the event officially began.
