Fortnite FNCS Duo Cash Cup Recap: Clix, Veno, and the Top Performers Before LAN

The first and only Duo Cash Cup before the LAN event provided answers to key questions: Who’s performing well, who’s struggling, and who didn’t qualify? Clix fans are concerned about Peterbot allegedly targeting Clix and planning to grief him at the LAN event. Additionally, Mongraal and MrSavage delivered some of the best Fortnite gameplay seen from them.

This was the only in-game Battle Royale Duos tournament before the LAN event this season. It was the first opportunity to observe how teams with new drop spots are performing, particularly in the new meta without jetpacks. Epic also changed the Duo Cash Cup format, making eliminations worth only one point, resulting in a placement-heavy tournament.

NA Region Highlights – Fortnite FNCS

Clix and Veno dominated the NA region, winning four games in the open rounds, including a 42-kill win. Despite their impressive 448 points, they didn’t win the tournament, losing to the EU team of Foxy.

The leaderboard featured many global teams, including Dukez and Sphinx, and Chiefs and Yomo. Unexpectedly, Oliver OG and Baer secured a top-five finish as a new duo. Other notable teams included Peterbot and EMP, Muzz and EpikWhale, Aviv and Bugha, Acorn and Cold, and BP, all performing exceptionally well under the new format.

EU Region Highlights – Fortnite FNCS

Mongraal and MrSavage, despite contesting one of the most challenging POIs, delivered exceptional performances, showcasing Mongraal’s best form in a long time. Other notable teams included JannisZ and Swizzy, the latter confirming his duo partnership with Yapo ahead of Global Champs.

NA Finals Recap

In the NA finals, Aviv and Bugha took first place with 332 points. Despite elims being worth only two points in the finals, they played phenomenally well, securing several high-elimination wins. Peterbot and Poyer, despite their aggressive playstyle targeting Clix and Veno, finished in second place with 283 points. Clix and Veno still managed to secure third place overall with 244 points, despite facing challenges from Peterbot.

EU Finals Recap

In the EU finals, Vico and Flickie, the reigning FNCS champions, claimed first place with 284 points. They excelled from their uncontested drop spot at Reckless Railways, a significant advantage they will maintain at LAN. Andel and Sed, a team previously underestimated, finished in second place with 259 points, outperforming Acorn and Cold despite sharing the same uncontested drop spot.

Mongraal and MrSavage’s Fortnite FNCS Performance

Mongraal and MrSavage, landing at The Raft, faced some early eliminations but managed to secure top 10 finishes multiple times, thanks to Mongraal’s solo clutches. Mongraal’s improved performance, possibly due to a lower sensitivity setting, indicates that this duo is in top form heading into the LAN event.

LAN Event Expectations

As the LAN event approaches, Peterbot and Poyer’s aggressive playstyle targeting Clix and Veno remains a point of interest. Clix and Veno’s success may hinge on whether Peterbot can quickly resolve his spawn fights or if Swizzy and Yapo decide to contest their drop spot. The tournament’s meta without jetpacks and the potential zone biases will also play a crucial role in determining the final outcomes.
