Futties Team 2 hasn’t officially launched, but the cards are already available thanks to a surprise early drop by EA. Players noticed they could pack Team 2 cards through the Season 9 Weekly Play 2 objective, which refreshed a day earlier than usual. This led to a situation where packs rewarded from the objective included Futties Team 2 players before the team was formally released.
EA later acknowledged the issue on social media and confirmed it would be resolved before Team 2’s full release. The pack-opening bug—where players got kicked from the store—has been fixed, and players can now open the Team 2 pack early. While it’s unclear if this was intentional or an oversight, the result has been a unique opportunity to earn promo cards ahead of schedule.
Pre-Order Rewards Include Icon Pick and 99 Shooting EVO (Futties Team 2)
EA also rolled out FC 26 pre-order bonuses sooner than expected. Anyone who pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition now has access to a 93+ Mixed Campaign Player Pick and the new 99 Shooting EVO. These rewards arrived less than 24 hours after the trailer reveal, which is a much faster turnaround than most expected.
The 99 Shooting EVO is especially valuable. It grants 99 shooting stats, the shapeshifter dynamic card design, and Finesse Shot+ if your player has three playstyle pluses already. Players are already using it in creative ways, including on Cristiano Ronaldo or Neymar as part of ongoing EVO chains. With no requirements to use the upgrade, it’s one of the most impactful early EVOs yet.
New SBCs: Skellyy Alvaro and Icon Drop
Thursday’s content included two new SBCs. The first was Skellyy Alvaro, a 6’8″ midfielder with 5-star skills and weak foot. While his stats aren’t overwhelming, his height and EVO potential make him a fun, budget-friendly card. With one 84-rated squad and a TOTW or TOTS requirement, he’s a low-risk addition for anyone looking to try something different.
The second SBC is a 5’2″ version of Mama, available in an “On This Day” Icon drop. With 96 pace and 96 dribbling, she feels unique on the ball. Despite less desirable playstyle pluses like Dead Ball+, she still carries Rapid+, First Touch, and Travella. Her SBC costs roughly 162k coins across six squads, though only three of them truly matter due to the low-level requirements for bronze, silver, and loan versions.
Players looking to boost their coin count can also complete Throwback Marquee Matchups. The group reward includes a tradable 50k pack.
Market Movements and PTG Upgrades
The market has reacted wildly to all the incoming content. Fodder dropped heavily after Division Rivals rewards, but certain segments—like 88-rated cards—could rise again when the 93+ Shape Shifter and Futties Player Pick refreshes. Team of the Week and Team of the Season cards remain solid investments if bought under 13k.
PTG cards saw major fluctuations tied to Women’s Euros results. Sweden’s elimination caused a steep crash in Swedish players like Rolfo and Shelin. Meanwhile, England’s win sent players like Stanway soaring from 346k to over 570k due to a confirmed PlayStyle+ upgrade. Spain’s performance remains key to the market’s next movement, especially for high-profile names like Paralluelo.
Some Futties Team 1 cards have also climbed post-reward, including Lauren James, due to her five PlayStyle+ attributes. While Team 2’s drop could cause a temporary dip, many Team 1 cards may bounce back depending on Team 2 pricing and pack weight.
Batch Re-Release and Promo Flood (Futties Team 2)
This Friday’s content also includes a massive pack refresh. Batch Re-Release 2 expands the total number of players in packs to 200, up from 155. Team of the Season cards rated 95+ are now included, alongside Foot Birthday icons and multiple versions of top-tier players like Vini Jr. and Hansen.
The re-release also brings back icons like Beckham, Zico, and Matthäus. Cards like Foot Birthday Reynald and Fantasy Heung Min Son are now available again. These returns give players more chances at top-tier loot, and it ties directly into upcoming SBCs like the expected 84×10 upgrade.
