FC 25 Evolutions & SBCs: What’s Hot and What’s Not

The FC 25 Immortals promo & Fc 25 Evolutions continues, but players keep waiting as the hype seems to be fading. However, Sunday brought a much-needed boost in content, including a standout feature—an Evolution option available through Squad Building Challenges (SBCs). This means a paid Evolution can now be crafted for free using untradeable fodder, a refreshing move by EA that players hope becomes a regular feature.

The Immortals Cup objective also dropped, offering free packs and high-value loan cards including Blanc, Ginola, and Zola. Together, these loan players represent roughly 3.8 million coins in value. Despite being temporary, cards like Ginola could easily show up in Weekend League or Division Rivals matches throughout the week. The format is straightforward: max chemistry, one 90–92-rated player allowed, with the rest of the team capped at 89 or lower. Additionally, an Icon or Hero is required, and players from French, Italian, or Premier League clubs will help complete objectives. This has already influenced the market—for example, Giorgio Chiellini’s price spiked from 16K to 25K due to his nationality and league compatibility.

Two Eras Evolution & Market Fallout

Sunday’s highlight was the release of the “Two Eras Melo” Evolution, heavily leaked and hyped throughout the weekend. Many invested in cards like Vinícius Jr., who went extinct temporarily in anticipation of fitting this Evolution. Priced at 100,000 coins, it offers strong boosts such as 93 pace, 94 finishing, and finesse+ and rapid+ play styles. It also upgrades the weak foot to five stars.

Yet the Evolution has a glaring omission—it does not provide any new playstyle roles. This significantly reduces its appeal. For example, Alex Morgan and Caroline Graham Hansen don’t benefit from this Evolution, as it lacks specific role boosts that would elevate them in competitive play. On the other hand, Son Heung-min becomes a standout option as he gains a five-star weak foot and already possesses inside forward+.

The Evolution is flexible with no strict positional requirements, allowing a wide range of players to fit. Still, the absence of role upgrades will likely limit its adoption among serious players. Vinícius Jr.’s price, which had climbed in anticipation, dropped back to around 200K post-release. Players like Son also fell—from 413K to just above 300K—proving that the Evolution didn’t meet expectations.

Free FC 25 Evolutions via SBCs

Despite its flaws, the ability to craft this Evolution via SBCs is a major win. EA has only done this a few times—most notably during the FUT Birthday promo. This version requires squads rated 85, 86, and 86. While not easy, it becomes manageable once daily upgrade SBCs like the 83×10 or 84×7 return. If no other SBCs demand high-rated fodder, players can complete this Evolution without spending coins.

This approach makes high-end Evolutions accessible to more players and adds variety to content. While still rare, crafting Evolutions through SBCs could become a defining feature in FC 25 if executed well. This one is live for 12 days and should be considered a must-complete, especially with better upgrade SBCs expected soon.

Thierry Henry SBC & Icon Player Pick

Thierry Henry also received an Immortals SBC on Sunday. While his 91-rated squad requirement might look high, only ten squads are needed, with three being relatively low-rated. At around 1.2 million coins, this SBC is decent value—especially when comparing to his Team of the Year Icon card priced at over 2.6 million. The card includes low driven+ and excellent role options such as inside forward, false nine, and advanced forward.

Still, for many players, this SBC may not be worth crafting. With recent additions like the 500K Evolution striker and Gerd Müller SBC, squad depth at striker is already strong. Henry’s four-star skill moves and weak foot don’t stand out in April. However, since the SBC remains available for 60 days, it could gain popularity if future Evolutions allow upgrades for 92-rated cards.

Also worth noting is the refreshed Icon Player Pick. This time, it includes Future Stars Icons and Grassroots Greats. Although it requires two Team of the Week cards and 87, 87, and 88-rated squads, the total cost is about 200K. Given the player pool and recent lack of exciting content, this is a fair price. Fodder values also rose following this SBC release, especially for 88-rated cards, which climbed from 7.9K to over 9K.
