FC 25 Database Unveiled: Key Ratings, Roll Plus+ Editions, and Early Access Promos

FC 25 is approaching, and EA has just released the beginnings of the FC 25 database. This database will be essential for crafting starter squads and evaluating the ratings of players. The most significant takeaway from this database includes learning about the all-important Roll Plus+ editions introduced with the new FCI IQ and the play style changes affecting these new cards. Several leaks have surfaced regarding the first promo of the year during Early Access, possibly confirming what’s to come. EA revealed the official stats for these cards, and interestingly, these are the exact stats that leaked about two to three weeks ago. The ratings remain consistent, with players like Jude Bellingham receiving a 90 rating and Virgil van Dijk an 89, confirming the accuracy of these leaks.

Daily FC 25 Database Reveal Schedule

EA released the top 25 ratings from both men’s and women’s football, which can be accessed on their website. Ratings will be updated daily until Friday at 12:00 p.m. Pacific Time. EA has a tendency to release more ratings gradually, so expect 25 more players from both sides each day. There may also be some additional lists or other player types revealed throughout the week.

New Changes in Player Positions and Ratings

The database revealed some key position changes. For instance, Kylian Mbappé retains his 91 rating as the joint-highest-rated card in the game, with no stat changes. However, the removal of the Center Forward position is notable, and players will have to adapt to alternate positions such as left wing or striker. This shift aligns with the new FCI IQ system, where tactical roles like striker, left wing, and center attacking mid overlap with the now-defunct center forward position.

Kylian Mbappé’s card has become even more dominant with the addition of the Finesse Shot play style, making him incredibly overpowered in the game. His Finesse Plus upgrade, carried over from FC 24, ensures his card will be in high demand and likely extremely expensive. Expect this upgrade to significantly influence his market price, as it enhances his value despite no changes to his 5-star skills and 4-star weak foot.

Jude Bellingham received a massive +12 overall stat boost, especially in shooting, with notable increases like +12 positioning, +13 finishing, and +17 penalties. His defensive and physical stats have also seen moderate improvements, making his card even more valuable. Comparisons between FC 24 and FC 25 highlight just how impactful these changes are.

Player positions matter even more in FC 25. If a player doesn’t have an alternate position listed, they will underperform if placed out of position during the game. The database offers fascinating insights into alternate positions and their significance in building competitive squads.

Database Exposes EA’s Rating Algorithm

Examining players like Martin Ødegaard reveals how EA’s rating methodology works. Ødegaard received a +17 standing tackle boost, which inflated his overall defensive rating. Similarly, Lautaro Martínez’s +20 standing tackle upgrade significantly raised his defensive stat, even though other defensive attributes remained unchanged.

Goalkeeper Play Styles: A New Dynamic

The database reveals unique play style boosts for goalkeepers, such as Gianluigi Donnarumma’s Deflector Plus and Thibaut Courtois’ Close Down Plus, both of which are highly animation-based. These play styles are expected to influence goalkeeper performance, adding new strategic layers to FC 25 gameplay.

Some player play styles have changed or been updated. Phil Foden’s card stands out, and his in-game stats suggest he could be a key player at the start of the year. Additionally, play style changes like finesse shot upgrades are making certain cards more desirable.
