Tournament Format and Structure

This 2025 EWC Valorant tournament will use a two-stage format, showcasing the world’s best teams’ talents. The group stage took off on July 8 until July 10, 2025, bringing some teams into elimination. It features four double-elimination groups with four teams each, similar to a GSL format. 

With this, every team gets multiple opportunities to prove themselves from opening matches down to the last group stage match. However, only the top two teams from each group get to advance to the playoffs, completing the eight-team bracket. Meanwhile, the playoff stage started seeing action on July 11 and will run through July 13, 2025.

It’ll be a single-elimination format, making every match count for teams wanting the top spots. All matches are played as best-of-three, except the grand final, where it’ll be a best-of-five series.

For Group A, Paper Rex dominated with a perfect 2-0 record while Karmine Corp secured the second spot. On the other hand, BBL Esports impresses under Group B, claiming the top seed with 2-0 followed by Sentinels’ 2-1 finish.

Meanwhile, NRG reigns over Group C with 2-0 and topped all groups with +20 round differential. Below them is Team Heratics, advancing as well in the Playoffs stage. Group D also had solid performances with Fnatic’s 2-0 alongside 2-1 record of Gen.G Esports. These eight teams set the course for the playoff bracket, featuring matches between top-seeded teams. 

In the quarterfinals, Paper Rex faces Sentinels, while Fnatic against Karmine Corp. NRG will also fight against Gen.G Esports, with BBL Esports vs Team Heretics.
